Okay for all of you that have experienced premature failure of their leaf spring eye bushings.....do stock replacement bushings fit RC's springs?.....I'll probably go with 2 piece poly bushings for ease of replacement.

Not too worried about reduced flex or squeaks, just want to fix this.....easily.

I don't have any first hand experience with RC leafs but the poly bushings should be your fix. Make sure to put plenty of grease on them inside and out to prevent squeaking.

How old are the leaf springs? Every time i had them fail i contacted RC and they sent me new ones.

I finally got fed up with RC parts failing and ditched them all together for the most part.

Don't know, I bought them from a member on here about 2 yrs ago and only just installed them about 6 months ago.

However, they were brand new, never installed and still had the tape on them but, me not having any kind of reciept, I doubt if they would warranty them.

They did give me some dimensions though, 2 1/2" for the front eye and 1 3/4" for the rear.

Just make sure you grease the new ones, did this with my RC springs 6 years ago.I go out almost every weekend, yes even summer out here and i now need new ones

still, get ahold of rough country. back when they were a sponsor here (i think they left last year) one of the members had bought a set of springs used just like you and the bushings wore out right away, they sent him new ones for the cost of shipping. at least give them a call and explain your situation, RC has great customer service.

I wonder if RE has the same customer service. My leaf bushings slop side to side. Not to mentiong the leaf clamps fell off the bottom leaf at the rear of the leaf on both sides.

X2 on the customer service. I'll give them that. This is the beginning phase of RC leafs though. Bushings fail early and once you decide to run a poly bushing. They will soon sag after that. I went throught this first hand and of course they warrentied both leafs with new ones. I got so fed up with them i actually traded a new set of RC leafs for a used set of RE's till i could afford my far better BDS leafs.

Not ranting or anything here just trying to give you an honest heads up of whats to come based off my experiances.

Called them this morning and they didn't offer to replace them after explaining my situation.

I'll give the poly bushings a try....had everything apart when I was doing my HD Off Road relocaters yesterday (had to shim the pinion angle) and just don't feel like pulling the springs out again anyway......rides a lot nicer now (aside from the trashed bushings!)

BTW, called Energy Suspension and confirmed that stock replacement sized bushings will work.

Thanks guys.....we'll see how this works out.

I contacted RC about warrantying some parts thinking they would be able to look up the info need for proof of purchase. The lift you buy with a lifetime warranty is only warrantied for a year unless you can prove proof of purchase. They only keep order data for a year. Wear parts like bushings aren't warrantied. My leaf spring bushings are shot, they offered me the Energy Suspension replacement bushing kit for $10 more than I can buy from Energy Suspension directly.
