Rotor warpage

I have had my composite rotors turned and alleviated a wobble when braking. Now I have brand new American made rotors that I put on last year and now it is wobbling again. The pads are in great shape. What would cause my rotors to keep warping?

The fact that they are composite. Blame (err, "thank") DaimlerChrysler's bean counters. The composite crap must have saved them at least a nickel apiece.

As Eagle noted, the composite rotors are notorious for warping. The only effective solution is to find decent quality aftermarket rotors that are NOT composite, and are made by a reputable supplier.

I would suggest NAPA brand, but others are available as well. Avoid the stuff made in China sold by some large discount parts chains.

The American made rotors from NAPA are what I have now. And they are still warping. I thought that when I got away from the composite stuff it wouldn't warp anymore. But it has reared it's ugly head again.

I just bought the cross drilled rotors from Pure Performance. They are great and I doubt they'll have that same warping problem.

Just because they are made in America doesn't mean they aren't composite. Remember (if you have seen them) all the threads about hub differences and calipers rubbing, etc. I believe the composite rotors have a thinner "hat" than the one-piece cast rotors, and it would be difficult to cast a rotor with a hat as thin.
