Ross's Jeep that will take longer than Rob's to build thread...

Got the PSC built box, ram, all new lines and PS cooler in. For now, the stock pump is in there, hot rodded out with West Texas mods. The pump and resi setup PSC sent me is wrong, they also forgot to send lower pressure lines and fittings. They sent them to me after a call, got the wrong fittings WTF. Gunna call them tomorrow, hopefully I can exchange it for the right pump. I think I wanna send the remote resi back and just get the fancy new stock mount alum resi, avoid the hassle of setting up the remote one. Gunna build a simple hoop for ram protection too.

Got the floors, seat mounts, and seat belts in. Made removeable cover for the UCA mount, removeable panels to access tranny/t-case stuff too. Got my hands all dirty this morning and painting everything too.

Needs front fenders...

:D

Looking great dude!
How much capacity does that stock replacement resi they offer have? I'd just stick with the remote one like everyone runs and that way if you change setups later it still works.

Front fenders need to be recut and have the 1/4" edging redone. I'll get them on by Nacfest, along with the other half door.

I don't know about the capacity, I assume around stock. With the stock resi and cooler now, it took jsut under 2qts to fill the system. It seems from their pictures, they sent me the 90-94 resi and I believe the 90-94 pump, not setup for stock high pressure line like they said it would be. They also didnt send me the correct fittings for the resi lines.

Don't roll it like the last guy who did a break-in run at Camp UJ. Or at least warn us first so we can get the video rolling.

I have one of the PSC TC pump with the new Alum "stockish" resi, supposedly its a little larger. Haven't had time to install it yet, still waiting on my getting my box back from AGR. I was in the same boat, needed a new pump but didn't want to really go thru the hassle of the remote resi setups.

Black jeep kicked some ass yesterday. All in all, it did very well and felt good. Felt good to be driving the jeep again too, oh how I've missed it. Props to Billy for taking me out and doing spotting for me; he pointed, I hit it. Hit a tree and smashed in the PS headlight, also hit the rim around the same tree and blew a bead. Hammered the rim straight, refilled it and put it back on. Rear end is too stiff, thinking about taking the bottom 2 leafs outta the RE3.5 pack. Still gotta put new yoke seals on the Stak, it just pisses oil out. Gotta play around with the connections/wiring on the winch to get that going.

nice job on getting it on the trails, can't friggin wait till nac fest

Thanks guys, fells good to be back in a big jeep.

I didn't except the leafs to be these bad, I had a great shackle angle. Its a 6 leaf pack, I'm gunna remove the bottom 2, they're only like 10" and 18" long and don't seem that important. I've got the traction bar so I'm not worried about the wrap, little less lift would be nice too.

Nice Ross!
Only a couple minor things is always good after a shakedown.

Quick list of things thag pop to mind;

-stock-ish PS pump work, started to whine while really working it but still steered good. I've already got the new PSC pump and remote resi in today.
-jeep stays happy with the temps. Got the aux fan ovverride hooked up, gets to 215ish when really working it. New tranny cooler and gauge setup works nice, stays in the mid to high 100's.
-gotta put the new seals on the stak, just pours out now. I think I figured out the rear output problem, the adjusting screw its too tight I believe.
-brakes need to be rebleed, the brake pedal screw needs a tad bit more length adjustment too.
-front driveshafts clicks and binds, I need a high angle CV or take this one apart and clearance the piss outta it.
-I gotta get some inner airlocks and rim stiffeners, slipped a bead at like 12psi, dented the rim alittle bit but pounded it back out.
-needs AW4 shift controller, one hill climb really kept kicking my ass, would upshift to second at the worst time.
-still wanna add some different front limit straps but the front end works damn good.

Awesome work dude, such a great feeling to get it out finally isn't it?

As far as the front driveshaft, just grind it yourself. It's pretty self explanatory where it binds up. It's when the driveshaft-side yoke on the centering ball bottoms out on the H block u-joint surround, if that makes sense. Grind a bit on the driveshaft side yoke and I bet it will clear 30º.

Good luck dude!

Oh also forgot, does it have those little star washers behind the yoke nut? They're splined to slip over the output shafts.

I could see those leaking if the yokes/shafts are a little worn in.

I'm gunna tear it down and dremel everything, seems I can reach mid-30*'s. I gotta put needle style grease fittings on the joints anyways.

I dont think there are even any seals in there to begin with. I can see a smooth land on the yoke for it and the backside of the rolling bearings it seems. I'm gunna call Stak this week and see what I can get for replacements.

this is great because you can't really tell it's on a ~30 degree slope.

Glad you came out, that thing was a beast, you should stay and camp next time!

I adjusted the shifter detent thingy, I knew that was it. The rear was screwed all the way in so the case couldnt go outta low ranges and no front digs, the TJ buggy it was orginally in ran one of the RCrocs classes that required that. Added a second washer and BAM, all ranges and modes again!! Called Stak a little while ago and got the part number for the output seals. NAPA will have two for me Thursday morning.

I also couldnt resist, I re-attached the front license plate and had to go for a spin. You know, just to make sure 2WD was working and all ;) Jeeps cruises down the road nicely in the mile loop I did down the street and back.
