Rocktoberfest 2011 - October 21st-23rd, Rausch Creek PA

im sure being in the upper field will allow them to be a bit more lenient towards us.

but we should still play nice regardless

we really werent out of hand at all i guess it is what it is...

You can talk to 'em next time then, if you want. Bill and I took more than our share of shit for it.

It's not our call to make. Maybe they'll be a little looser about it this time, I dunno, but I certainly wouldn't plan on it.

We could always go back to Echo Valley...?

Im not trying to put you or bill in a bad spot and make you guys here shit from them thats why i didnt stay for the last night, Im just giving my opinion. I've never been to echo valley so idk how that place is. This time I already know how strict they are so Ill do my best to be more respectful as you guys dont deserve to hear all the shit from them.

its also late october. less campers to complain than in late june. if we are lucky nobody else will be remotely close to us and it will be less of an issue. we didnt have any issues last rocktoberfest when we were in the main tent area.

....trust me on this, you do NOT want to make home in Echo Valley! It has loads of potential and great tent sites by the water, but it truly is a dump. If I ever hit the lottery you can guarantee that my retirement plan involves buying that place and revamping it to cater to the 4wheel/atv/dirtbike crowd...it would be a gold mine with its location, but the current owners just arent bright enough to understand that.

...that said, cool...I'll be up there wednesday nite..I need a little cold weather tenting, and Im already testing recipes, so hopefully I'll have some warm grub for the early attendees...:)

Just called to confirm, and yes, they've got us in the upper field on the 20th-23rd.

Wade, if anything, we're going to have to be even more careful this time around. They're giving us a second chance, not a free-for-all.
I think this might actually be more like a third chance, after NACFest '10 and '11. I'll admit to definitely being part of the problem in '10.

Bring your shower sandals... unless you want a really mean case of athletes foot. I normally kick it pretty fast but this time mine is still coming back from frickin June. Whatever they had in those showers should be sent to the feds for weaponization.

adam got it too!

Whooo I'm going to do my best to try to make it down. I'll be wheeling my newer green jeep still on the 33s, but hopefully by that point I'll get the long arms put on instead of just the belly pan. I don't have AAA anymore, but I'm still only 1.5 hours away and have a company truck so i'll beat the FAWK out of it.

No guarantees if I'll be able to have the weekend off (we're supposed to start a new customer in october and the schedule is less than clear) but I'll do what I can to make it.

Agreed with the first part...learned my lesson at NAC-fest '08 when they wanted to keep my security deposit for allegedly knocking a dead tree over at our campsite - two days before we were leaving.

Nice move guys, give me two days notice that I'm not getting my security deposit back, and I'll be *sure* to take great care of the campsite...it was resolved but still left a bad impression of the place.

Just to double check though - I made the reservations for Thursday-Sunday as we were thinkin' people were gonna get there Thursday night to wheel the 21st-23rd. As of right now I don't know anyone else getting there on Wednesday, but if that's what we're gonna do then I can call and see about extending the reservation for a day earlier.

I still gotta call and see if I can get a cabin. I made the lady camp at nacfest, ill treat her to a nice cabin this time

Imagine a drunk Ross being carried by Lani from the upper campsite to the cabins with Ross screaming obscenities the whole time. That will become reality in October.

....They keep EVERYONE'S security deposit for silly reasons, its one of their m.o.'s... Strangely, the lady running it always liked me and never gave me grief, not even once, but compared to TwinGrove, well, there is no comparison, end of story. I plan on helping to be Bad Cop this year if anything goes on that even hints of trouble with the management. Trust what you read, folks, please, you do not want to be part of burning the bridge to this campground, its just too much of a good thing to throw away!
I will be going wed. nite, but if the reservation cant be extended for that one night it wont kill me. I've got the KOA rewards card and have stayed there on other weekends outside of Naxja events, so no big deal, I'll be calling myself to confirm a spot "up on the hill". I've stayed there before just after they opened it, and it really is nice (one hell of a view, and trailer parking aplenty). Looking forward to seeing all me Homeys again. And I have some food in mind for wed/thurs. nite...so keep me posted if you're coming up early so I know how much to make/bring.

Matt's GasCan probably killed your immune system, Ken.
