Rocktoberfest 2011 - October 21st-23rd, Rausch Creek PA

OK - so y'all can start planning, we'll make this official. October 21st-23rd it is.

.... even though the title says it's associated with Crawl for the Cure, this won't be nearly the debacle we encountered at last year's Rocktoberfest. ... :)
So ... what debacle? All the reports I read following the event seemed to indicate everything went well.

On another note, rumor has it that the NJJA has "leadership" issues & there won't be a Crawl" this year. Dunno if it's true ... but back to the "debacle" ... Please elaborate.

Adam and I drove our rigs on 35s for 6+ hours down there and wheeled...

We both DD them at the time and did plenty of blacks/reds.
I guess I'm not worth enough to get an honorable mention.

I might hit a red or two....butttttttt, ive got no DD, trailer, and i need to drive it 3 hours. I know alot of you guys wheel the balls out of your rigs and then drive, but im not that crazy.

Im buyin a DD next month, and a trailer in the near future. Then ill be blacks and reds.:skull1:

I ran blacks/ a few reds on 33's and D44s. I beat the piss out of it, spent a bit of time the last night fixing it, and drove it 7 hours back home just fine. It was a humbling experience.

I will most likely not be attending this though. Jeep still is in the same state it arrive home from NACfest, (minus ken's borrowed tire). That condition is "fubar"

How has any of your Jeep NOT just blown up and taken out an entire town with it?
They very rarely leak fuel and the rest of the fluids in a jeep aren't explosive enough to do anything :spin1:

LAME!

You have a real job now, buy some damn tires and drive down! Oh and fix the rest of the jeep too, parking lots are fine for fixing jeeps.

Yes I have a real job, that keeps me away from my Jeep. And I don't have a ton of money to go spending, I want to start actually saving it for once in my life, especially after just buying all my scuba stuff. Plus, I have a certain TJ to put back together before I can touch it.

Yeah you didnt DD yours at the time lol.

Actually I was, the Briarwood has pretty much been sitting since I moved back home. The Brairwood was revived once I got home from it though.

well we had some CJ guys yell at us for taking too long on one trail. and called us "not real Jeepers"

other then that just alot of trail traffic

it drove home fine why wouldnt it drive there fine?

NO BALLS

Can I still wheel with you guys even though I have a frame now

Also from NJJA they are not holding a large public Crawl for a Cure this year it will be an intraclub event this year so no worries on that front.

The trails do get terribly crowded during this event, and FWIW, as someone who has guided for the C4TC for this event, I will say that last year was a bit tough trying to "weave" Naxja's runs in with the NJJA. I dont think anyone is trying to slam the event, nor the cause, but rather expressing an opinion. The fact is the trailruns started late and ran slow because of the huge turnout for the event. Thats not a judgement towards the NJJA or the event, just an unfortunate side effect of a popular event with a large turnout....Thats not what everyone may want for RockToberfest, and I dont blame them. It was great that we were able to try to combine efforts last year, but in retrospect may not be the best idea for either party involved. Just an observation....?

Put in today for the time off work, should get approved

downside being that it's that much further away from the wimps who wanna stay in cabins. :wave1:

Hey, I resemble that remark. You guys want to freeze your "assorted threaded hex fasteners" off in a tent, be my guest.

Anyhoo, just found this (been a lab rat the last few weeks, and barely get to come up for air, much less browse NAXJA), and promptly booked myself one of those nice cushy Kabins.

Will be rolling into camp on Thursday afternoon, and am up for organized food if you decide to do same.

random question, are 102" cb antennas allowed?
