Yowf. The buggy can be replaced.

You, OTOH, can't (and we should all be glad of that.... :illegalflipoff2: )

<chuckle> Dontcha wish you were using the heavy trailer now?

May end up being screwed.
Insurance is weaseling.

Brad,
Before I bought the buggy I had a cj that was hit outside my house while it was parked. The insurance tried the same thing. I actually had the jeep sold and lost the initial buyer. I ended up taking a few hours and getting a list together for every component I had in the cj and presented them cost. I did have to threaten a attorney but they gave in before I actually put any more towards the attorney. Dont give up.... Your truck insurance has to cover it because the trailer was attached. When I first bought the buggy i also bought my trailer new. I called State Farm and wanted to insure it. They said there was no need because as long as the trailer is attached to the truck the trailer and its load is covered.

Matt

It still makes me sick to look at the pics...

Judas Freakin' Priest Brad ... you have a way of tearing the crap outta things! ;) I'm away from the computer for a short time, come back, and find out you perform a vehicular acrobatic act out on the highway ... damn. That is a wild incident ... glad to hear no one was hurt.

Interesting..... when I bought my new trailer this spring, State Farm told me exactly the opposite. That I needed seperate insurance, as the load on the trailer isn't covered...

Mine is covered under my truck as long as it is attached, if it gets stollen from my driveway that's a different story.

Same here. JIM.

Nothing to do with receipts.

As a company vehicle, we were told that whatever we towed would be covered, right?
However, as it turns out, that only applies to company business related stuff.
IOW, if I tow a cylinder out of US Steel and drop it on the highway, it's covered via our company liability policy.

Personal use stuff would have to be insured separately with there own policies.
If we do this to a snowmobile, the snowmobile policy handles it. Same for quad cycles, whatever.
Since the buggy didn't have it's own policy, I'm SOL.

Wait, it gets better.

Also, this trailer isn't owned (or insured, obviously) by us, it was borrowed. Well, insurance follows the vehicle, not the driver, so the trailer's insurance covers it.
Well, he didn't have coverage on it so I'm without paddle on that one also.

Im going to call tomorrow about the trailer insurance. I have been pulling around two or three rigs now thinking the trailer and rig would be covered by the truck insurance. I know if its not hooked up its not covered but as long as its hooked to the truck i thought it was covered.

Here's another. If the buggy is on my property and something happens does my home owners cover it?
