Wow, I didn't think Rockford was that bad! I'd claim Madison, WI too Sean as my home if my family wasn't here and I needed the support through the gut wrenching divorce I'm going through currently.

I'm still a newbie out here in the country that I'm not really used to. I'm from Mt. Prospect, IL (a Chicago burbanite born and raised) originally, but the lower prices and open country are growing on me. I'm a little north of Rockford, IL in Roscoe.

Stuff out here by the IL/WI border, just North of Rockford isn't bad, but I agree that Southern Rockford is trashy!

Also, 11th is one of the locations they were running the prostitution stings a few months ago.

From the Airport north to Wisconsin. From Pecatonica east to Belvidere. One enourmous ghetto of blight, disgust and random acts of stupidity. Just some areas are worse than others.

But drugs and hookers might help you with that D :wierd:

I might mention that the trash from rockford is starting to spill northwards. a big reason I moved out of loves park. what used to be a pretty nice semi quiet town of hillbillys is now full of gang bangers, goth punks, panhandlers and other run of the mill graffiti spraying filth. I still work in that town and can't get out fast enough after I punch out at night.

unfortunately prostitution hasn't caught on there yet....... someday.

Roscoe, Rockton, and South Beloit IL are o.k., but that's pretty much it as far as I gather from driving around. I wouldn't call Rockford a ghetto, but it isn't pretty either.

It sure is way cheaper to live (Real Estate) then I was used to in Sacramento, CA and also in the Chicago burbs. I'm originally from Mt. Prospect, IL and that area has just gotten crazily expensive to live. Sure a lot more to do though.

I figure for the relatively cheap Real Estate North of Rockford and being within 1.5 hrs of Chicago or Milwaukee isn't too bad. Could always be worse!!! (South of Chicago by Gary, IN) :wave:
