Now I just need for it to get dark so I can try them out!! The lights cost a whopping $30 at Wally World...

Is there anything preventing that light from becoming a bubbling pile of goo?

Just ordered me 8 of them. Not sure what I'll do with them but hey they were only 13 bucks shipped.
What how? I was about to order 10 of them for 19.99, until I saw it was an additional $31 for shipping.

8 = 2 lights + shipping.

I ended up with 4 pods per side. They are bright enough for really dark situations but are very directional. Was happy with them while I had them hooked up.

these are pricey, but VERY bright and the the light is not directional, it spreads pretty far. they use them on tuner cars to light up the suspension. http://www.varad.com/v4/products/details/sl210.php i ran a set of the blue ones, one in each wheel well, for a couple years and they work great. i would say the light output is about twice that of a D cell maglite. if you go for the whole 4 light setup with the controller its about 100 bux, and you get all kinds of ricey strobe and music reaction modes, but you can get just the lights, http://www.varad.com/v4/products/details/SL2.php, for around 20 bux each if you find a dealer for them.

Intrepid, thanks for that link. I just ordered up 4 pods, figured I could use them around the Jeep. Always wanted to put two in the hatch and a switch on the column in the back so I have overhead lighting when on the beach.
