What gears? Auto or manual tranny? How's the spool working in the front? Do you have hydro assist and drive this XJ on the street? Do you like the Boggers with your 10" rims? What color, looks like Military drab green? I'm all for a simple custom paint job and black rims and keeping it simple and the money spent goes into function over form (being pretty). That's all the questions I have at the moment. :-)

Nice late model XJ bud. I have the same axles built with detroits and 5.38/5.43 gears, alloys, 35 spline 9" with nodular case etc etc on 37" MTRs. Those are great axles to work with.

Nice pics, what's your setup Matt? I'm assuming Long Arms and 35s from the pics.

I'm going with RE long arms and am looking forward to more front end flex, but hope I don't pull my driveshafts apart, otherwise I'll need to get longer ones and/or do limiting straps...that kind of defeats the purpose of the LAs, but you don't want to keep having problems on the trail. You can always tweak things prior to hitting the trails and be stuck who knows where.

I got a deal on the LAs I cannot couldn't pass up, up until now I've had my 37's with 8" lift with adj upper/lower RE CAs and RE drop brackets and it worked great for me. At least I think it was great, I know I'll like the RE LAs and custom cross member.

Thanks! It sits at about 6" and those are actually 33's. It is mostly RE stuff, the 3.5" kit with spacers and shackles. The longarms are Rockrawler's 3-link setup. I love the longarms. So far my only limiting factor are the shocks. They are a tad bit short.

I'd just get some bar pin eliminators, that will give you another 2" of shock length and is a good mod itself, especially in the rear where is is a major pain to break a bolt disco your rear shcoks. I guess I could see your tires being 33's now that you mention it. I think that's the perfect tire, anymore and you compromise too much for a daily driver. I have 37's on my wheeler, like I've said a million times, sorry...but I would not want to drive this everyday in traffic/long distance...way to much of a liability.

I'm looking to lift my 98' 2 dr dd a bit. I have a 2" bb and 31's on it now, but want to run my bro-in-law's axles as he is going full width like my wheeler 91' on 37's and I want to run his TJ30 4.88s lockrite and Early Bronco 9" with 4.88s spool and 31 spline Moser alloy shafts. I have 32" ATs so I should have quite the sleeper daily driver/grocery getter and the big gun (my 91' on 37's) for the extreme stuff!

Its not a late model, he just did the 97+ header swap. You can tell by looking at the dash, and the back hatch, how its squared, not round.

And I agree though, xjj33p3r that is a wicked sick looking rig. I definitely like it a lot. Sweet custom rear bumper, does it provide a lot of protection (in other words have you tested it out yet?) Love that color.

XJ_Jeeper01, That is a sick first picture. Jeep is looking good, I'm hoping do fab up some long arms in the spring once I learn to weld more, and then hoping to go from 32's to 33's.

4.56 yukon
AW-4 with added cooler
Spool works great, real hard to turn though
It's driveable on the street without hydro assist, and I have brackets setup to mount the ram on the cover and tie-rod, but the box I had in there was tapped wrong, so I installed another box I had laying around, and used stock steering for now.
The boggers work alright, but you really have to lower the air pressure to get these things to flex at all. In those pics I had it around 10 psi, and I had to lower it to 7 to grab better, which they certainly did. As for the 10 inch rims, that's the smallest width I could run, seeing as they are the 14.5" wide tires, and I never really popped a bead, or got close to it. The only reason I have those bling wheels is because of how cheap I got them... otherwise, I'd get some black ones like the spare.
It's camo green that I sprayed on myself. I'm all about function as well, and once I switch out the bling wheels, it's time for some steel wheel beadlocks.

One last thing, it's actually a 96 xj with a 98 front header and grill. Fooled ya:spin1:
