responsible off roading video

By the way I am all for responsible wheeling, pack it in, pack it out, and all that. It is just frustrating when you read about 700 miles of trails closing because some rich enviormentallist got a hair up his/her a$$ and petitioned to have them closed. It just seemes they are so wrapped up in their "cause" that they care little for the effect the rest of us.

i jeep and i love mud just as much as rocks. what if i am driving on a trail with mud on it? and so its ok for the "environmentalist" to enjoy the land there way but not ok for 4 wheelers to enjoy it their way?

Ding, Ding, Ding!

I don't know when wheelers became the enemy, as us wheelers do a lot more to maintain the trails we use than the enviornmentalists.

yea i dont see too many environmentalists filling in ruts and having a supply of garbage bags in their vehicle for trail pick ups...and in the long run those stupid electric cars are far less economical than most of out vehicles. the lifespan is far shorter and the batteries are extremely expensive to dispose of.

As I have said before, I am a firm non voter. It's not like either candidate is actually going to follow through with all those wonderous promises they make. At this point I would be happy with a president that doesn't start a nuclear war.

If one really wants to make a difference by voting and politics etc, then you have to stay local. Research and follow what types of legislations etc are going on in your local county.

I myself have more important things to do that try to tell others what to do. Live and let live.

Whats wrong with Nuclear war? This world is in need of a serious population reduction anyway.

Maybe a few well placed nukes in China, India and a few other over populated countries would cure a few problems.

And....I wasn't tell you what to do. Vote for who you want.

Just remember that a liberal congress and president is exactly what the environmental movement is looking for. Our government would be nothing but puppets for them. You may not like how Bush has handled this war...most of us don't but in my eyes the war is way way down on the list of things that are important in our lives and how we live it.

It's sad to me knowing this whole thing was filmed in my area...because it makes the Washington state guys look bad (to those outside the community)

Although I will say the high school thing is true, in the parking lot at my high school there's always one Jeep covered in mud, and at least 7 lifted Jeeps (not including trucks) out of 100or so cars in one of the 3 parking lots. Plus where I live there's probably 5 illegal trails within a 5mile radius...which is unfortunate.

Well they should just make them legal, then they wouldn't have to worry about it. Loss of animal habitats is not caused by wheeling, but by logging and general population growth. They need to get over it, and focus on factors that actually make a difference.

Some people seem to miss the point of the video. Its not saying wheelers are bad, its saying IRRESPONSIBLE wheelers are bad. Its true that wheelers do alot of clean ups, maintance and what not on the trails. It is also true that the majority of the trash and damage is caused by IRRESPONSIBLE wheelers :(

there is a balance to everything. SOME wheelers think that all greenies should be slapped because SOME greenies think all wheelers should be slapped??!! seems that they have more in common then they think?

their are extremist on everything, politics, religion, and enviroment. If you can open your eyes to both sides you will find the truth inbetween.

I haven't watched this video yet, but I see a problem here.

Some of you say "This video is good because it shows that not all 4wheelers are bad". Yes, it's true that not all 4wheelers are bad. I wish NONE of us were bad-- but all you have to do is look at the OTHER replies in this thread to see that a lot are bad, or at least stupid. I'm talkinga bout the ones saying "I like to run over flowers" or "I hate manzanita bushes". It's like the concept of tread lightly went over those peoples heads completely.

There's no need for ANY compromise between nature and humans as far as 4wheeling goes. Humans should be smart enough to stay on the trail and destroy vegetation. If knocking over trees and tearing up meadows is something you enjoy, you need to find a different hobby and stop vandalizing OUR 4wheeling environment. If everyone followed treaded lightly, there would be no conflict with the vast majority of environmentalists.

And also, always remember that if it weren't for environmentalism there would be far fewer places TO offroad in. If it weren't for the federal government, there would be no vast public lands to go on week long expeditions through. A lot of fourwheelers seem to have a libertarian political stance, but remember that if libertarians like Ron Paul were to somehow win the presidency and the congress, public lands would all be sold off to the highest bidder, whose first action would be to put up fences.

hell, i go mudding all the time. me and my freinds love tearing up some soggy patch of dirt in there pastures. you wont see me off the trails at an orv park, or plowing through the "pretty little meadows" unless there on my land or one of my buddys land. im all in the whole idea of keeping public land nice, but private land is going to get torn up as pleased. and theres nothing that said hippies can do about it. im in highschool and come monday or tuesday the chance of seeing anyone's truck/jeep/SUV mud in pretty slim.

i dont recall ron paul making to far in the elections. im also pretty sure those guys who said i like to run over flowers and who cares about the bushes or whatever were joking.

Hell no I wasn't.

Interesting video.

Can i ask why this thread had to take a turn? its one thing to state your oppinion.. but.. what the hell does a nuclear war and Ron paul have to do with this?.. C'mon.

Euthanize hippies, Ron Paul, and everyone in that video :hang:

Theres far worse shit happening in this world than people not "treading lightly" anywhere for that matter.

Focus on something that matters...not people tearing up land. It's land, it can be fixed. Ontop of that, IT FIXES ITSELF!

WHY WOULD HIPPIES WANT TO HANG OUT IN MUDDY FORESTS ANYWAY???

By the responses to this thread I can see we will have a very short time period to offroad. most pople will think these are the reactions of all offroaders and shut everything down!

Not just that, but what's the point of public lands if they aren't kept beautiful and pristine as possible while maintaining the trails going through them?

Whats the point of having beautiful and pristine public lands if no one can access them?

The sad truth is that the people who are closing our 4x4 areas down are people who will never ever see the country with their own eyes anyway.
