JoseJalapeno and I have been toying with the idea of having a NAXJA booth at the Expo this year with the goal of attracting new members, particularly in the Reno area or Northern Nevada, to let them know what NAXJA is about.

We can get non-profit booth space at $200 per 10x10 spot. We'd like to have enough space to bring in a member's XJ for display and have a table with fliers, signage, etc.

We're wondering if any other Sierra Chapter members would be interested in this idea, or to be frank, possibly making a small donation to help make this happen.

Because this is somewhat of a localized event I'm not sure how the guys in California feel about it or if there would be any support there. But without asking, we won't know, hense the purpose of this post.

The guy who runs this is Al Lockett and he and his wife were at our Sierra Fest last year (drove the green TJ). He mentioned it to me then and I thought it was a good idea and put it in the back of my mind. Then Joe asked me about it toward the end of last year and really would like to see this happen. I support Joe and his enthusiasm and bringing more Nevada XJ owners together into NAXJA is one of the goals I made when I considered stepping up to be part of your BOD.

Would it be joes mall crawler in this event? Will your jeep (Eric) still be in one peice by then? I think your jeep comes to mind when I think about xj's cuz of your book.... Figure it out and i will donate some cash...

Eric, This may be a perfect use of some 'Membership growth and enhancement' funding from national .

I have gone as fair to ask WFO to help us out, i have all there steering on my rig. That would now put the spot into a different bracket. The spot would now be a profit booth vs a non-profit. There is a major money difference in profit vs non-profit. I think we should just start this way to get it going & then next year bring on a manufacturer to help out with cost. We could also add more rigs to next year with more money. Just my .02..

ill throw down 20$. all we need is 10 guys to throw down 20$....

Oh, gotcha! That makes sense. What if we got another non-profit to split the cost with us? I guess it would probably need to be somebody local to you that's not already going to be there.

But, if Opie is right about being able to use the Membership Growth money, that sounds like a great option.

Thanks,
Billy

That would be great but now we would need to split the booth with them. The booths are only 10x10 spots. I think i can have some money to do sweet booth next year. I would like 2 to 3 rigs in the booth. I also want to do a video from Sierra fest just to show all the fun we have..

Thanks I'll look into that. I didn't know it existed.

Joe's right about the sponsor stuff - it turns it into a commercial booth which then more than triples the cost for the smallest booth they have. Larger spots run into the thousands...

If anyone wants to buy the Yukon 29spl 8.25 shaft i have for sale in the Sierra Chapter For Sale forum for $40, I will put the full amount towards the NAXJA booth for this event.

Well just a bit of a update, we are good to go on the Reno Offroad show. Mr Vets XJ's & my XJ will be on display. Just want to see if anybody wanted to join us at the NAXJA booth. Come shoot the chit & have fun. You just mite see Alan (alboyxj) you can see what I get to deal with everyday. Lol

How come we're not showing any good rigs?:anon:

We tried to get Eric to show his rig...but he had to go and cut it all up! We will see if we can at least stack a tire or something impressive...
