CHeck out this AWESOME Handbuilt scale xj these guys are selling
Just the body is 50 peices!
The Chassis and suspension/axles look pretty cool too

"All parts of the kit are raw parts and have to be fitted, sanded, fillered and painted. The body comes with rough pre-cutted window and wheel areas. The kit includes all parts you need to build the body (approxx. 50 handmade single parts). Glues and colours not included. Assembly time approx. 20 - 30 hours."

super pricey but dang they even have the laydown or 8274 style winches roller or hawse style fairleads. snatch blocks shackles and everything all in perfect scale and working order! talk about details

Yesterday I bought a RS10 with a 7 cell 8.4 3000 battery from a local dealer for $135 out the door. I already broke the axle pins and Im working on replacing them with the hardened pins now. Im also removing some of the foam from the tires and adding a ton of BB's to them. How many of you have done that with yours?

Im getting rid of the H3 body ASAP but Im not sure if I want an XJ body or if I just want to build a tube chassis for it.

Sorry for the cell phone pics but its all I have right now.

There is a tiny little pin in this that will break if you climb anything like its the trail 5 hill climbs at Rausch.

You can see the hardened pin taped to the body waiting for me to replace it.

Added a new rig to the fleet this summer, I broke down and bought a Traxxas Telluride to build into a trail rig, nicknamed it "Blasphamy" due to it being a fully independant rig.

This is the truck, straight out of the box with my SCX10 XJ;

The mods are as follows;
Trinity Monster Maxx 21t (originally an E-Maxx mod motor, got one in the Green XJ too, worked great in that!)
Rings and Pinions out of the brushed Stampede 4x4 (literally like swapping 4cyl XJ axles into a 4.0l/stick shift XJ!)
Proline beadlocks for the Associated SC10 and Losi 22SRT to narrow the truck to better fit the tires under the flares.
Proline Trencher SC tires in M3 compound with HPI Racing's soft SCT foams.
Added the off road lights for the Stampedes.
RPM shock guards.
Trimmed the front fenders, bedlined the fenders and inside of the body, painted the hood bulge flat black, then dropped the body mounts 2 holes to make it look....more "right".

Here's what it looked like when I last shot a pic of it;

Still haven't gotten it on the rocks yet though, haven't had the time when not at work.

I just picked up a Yeti. Sweet truck for sure. undecided whether I am going to lock the front. Waiting on the two speed trans to come out so I can upgrade.

Nice, been thinking about an Ascender lately, sounds like I can get one new for CHEAP via work too. I just need to finish saving a bit of money for my car insurance the start putting money away for tires on the 200 as well as a P/S pump on the XJ first.

The Yeti sucks. about 25% of the RTR cost needs to be spent to make it worth of more than about 3-4 battery charges. The front shocks are at best 1/2 filled with oil/water. The balance is horrible. The wheels suck big time, so yes need to replace (part of the above 25% added cost). They will likely never have a 2sp trans out, and when they do you will need a new TX for it. The biggest fix needed is not even avail yet, front hinge pins. I wold bet my Yeti on the fact that 1 in every 4 Yetis out there that have more then a few charges ran and bashed or hit a track or even just moderate trail, have bent hinge pins. Not to mention the hinge pins are not even forced in to the front capture and guides parallel front to rear, so they want to bend even at a stand still.

SO many things wrong with it.

IT IS COOL though.
Looks very cool.

But I regret buying it 100%

IF I COULD sell it for what I have into it or even original cost and 1/2 the added cost of fixes, I would in a heart beat and get another Slash or Blitz...
