? Its a unibody, not a frame. A cross member for the rear?? Like a strong bumper?

There is no better solution than a good rear bumper with good mounting points (hitch holes + all 8 bumper holes).
I'm sure you can find pictures of rear bumpers.

i took a piece of 4" x 3/16" flat stock, drilled holes for the bumper mounts, made openings for the frame rail openings and soon for the gas tank straps, and welded a piece of 1" x 3/16" flat 90 degrees at the bottom for rigidity. right now it is bolted with the bumper bolts....but once my rear bumper is finished, I will drill a few more holes and add some rosette welds.

if that makes sense. here's a pic

that's good for building a rear bumper.....but it's a good idea to reinforce the rear crossmember (especially if you chop the top), as cracking starts to occur there. i beleive goatman had some issues with that

I'm taking this on next weekend. A piece of 4x2x.120 is perfect, cut the old junk out and weld the rectangle in. Drill your bumper mount holes first.

Only reason is that I'm bending a new "prerunner" style bumper, and they just don't have the structural integrity of a rectangle bumper.

Don't forget to reinforce the fuel filler hose area as well.

Man that seems like a lot of work and money to just run 33's... all the more power to you, I think you did an awesome job. Custom Suspension work aint easy or cheap, why go thru all the hassle just to run 33's?

Looks good!

It will be on 35s shortly. It was a lot of work but well worth it in the ride/travel/rigidity areas... plus with plans for a high hp stroker I want to put the power down without axle wrap.
