First off, I don't know anything about jet boats other than I own one.
It's a 96 Regal Rush Jet Boat with a Mercruiser 120 in it.
Le problem is that it won't plane off worth a damn. It just plows water at about 5mphs after a minute or so it will set up on plane and then will get upwards of 42mphs. You can forget pulling a skiier. It's been like this since I bought it.
So far, after a lil bit of research, I suspect it to either be the impellar or the wear ring that makes a tolerance fit around the impellar. Basically letting water pass by the impellar and not actually forcing it out the rear of the pump.
After several nights of trying to find these parts I have resorted to finding help here, just like every other situation in my life...
How many of you are boating guys!? I need a source for the wear ring!
PS: After searching other boating forums and posting there in pusuit of my answer I have come to realize just how active this forum is! It's great to have people to come to that will respond quickly and acurately. Cheers!
