Reese XJ 2" receiver hitch with a beefy, full 3" x 3" crossmember.
I had purchased this hitch, from a gent who had sold many dozens of Xj hitches and seemed to know his stuff, for my '99 XJ. I found when I later got around to checking it, that the top-front edge of the crossmember would contact the gas tank while there was a good inch of space left between the mount-flanges and frame 'rails'. I'm fairly certain that the tank is original/OEM, and in stock position/unmodified. [Perhaps, the tank moved rearward during the romps by the previous owner...??] - He indicated that, as he believed, my rig was a later model-year '99 and was of a slightly different configuration. I don't know, either way, but the mount holes certainly appeared to line-up perfectly.... Thus, I will provide actual dimensions and pertinent measurements, and let you determine applicability:
Flange(s) hole pattern, C-to-C, front-to-rear:
- 1st to 2nd: 2 5/8"
- 2nd to 3rd: 3 3/16"
- 3rd to 4th: 1 13/16"
Flange-to-flange/across the span: 35 5/8"
BACK of rear-most hole(s) to rear-face of crossmember: 1/4"
TOP of crossmember to top-face of flange(s): 2 1/4"
Actual crossmember outside dimensions: 3" x 3"
Those dimensions should provide all you need to determine the configuration picture.
----
A few areas of surface rust were treated, and painted. If you want it to be perty, sand smooth and repaint....
I'm offering it well below my cost, to pass it along and put it to bed, at $80.
Will ship, on your dime.
Location: Foxboro, MA
