This is on a 2000 xj, I've got the sides removed and the two bolts that go though the bottom but I can not get a good enough grip on the two nuts that are inside the bumper to remove them. I had a hand wrench on it once but it put a lip on the nut intead of moving it and now the correct size box wrench won't go over it anymore all the way on.
I wasn't planning on getting a new bumper, just trying to get it off so I can put in a new nut strip on the passenger side as mine is all rusted up.
I soaked them in aerokroil last night but the bolt looks rather large from corrosion.
Would kinda suck to destroy the bumper to get it off to install a hitch when a lot of aftermarket bumpers come with built in receivers.
Any suggestions on how to get it off before I decide to just bend the bumper up so I can get them straight on with an impact wrench?
