Rear brakes won't self adjust, Chry. 8.25

The info about going forward and stopping and reversing and stopping is great. I haven't heard that one before.

As for the brake parts, I believe they are NAPA parts. My brother gets parts at cost through work so I had him pick up everything for me.

I'll take a look again at the adjuster cable ring that goes on the top post. When I was in there I felt the tension on the cable and it did have a little play in it.

Thanks again. Help like what I've received on this is what makes NAXJA such a great source of infomation. Well worth becoming a member.

O-gauge is correct about the tool The best tool for the job resembles a screwdriver, but the end is broader and a bit sharper, and one with a bit of bend at the end works best on the Jeep.

Do check the cable guide. Replacement parts have a very shallow boss where they go into the hole in the shoe, and they can dislodge when you're putting in the spring.

The tool is called a (wait for it) Brake Spoon.

Do NOT ask me why as it is one of the great mysteries of life.

Well, OK, it does sort of look like a spoon, I'll give you that...
