I'll be running the Ballistic EXM 3/4" - 5/8" steel ends for my steering with 34" LTBs. Solid steel 1.25" tie rod and drag link.
I spent $150 total on everything and have solid left over.

Ballistic Fab has the same exm-10/12 for $14.99. Check it out.

Those look like the steel ones. The ones the OP listed, are Chrome Moly. I would think that their would be a difference in strength between the two. Have any specs on the ones you listed? Im in the market as well...

For steering I wouldn't reccomend them.

If your rig is a trailer queen and only sees trail use, then by all means use Heims. However, if your rig sees even mild street use or speeds above 35MPH, I wouldn't reccomend Heims at all.

Track bars.... iffy. I went through 3 $55 heims with kevlar bushings before I just make a track bar with a currie joint (spherical ball joint) for $35.

But if you must, check your local tractor supply places for the best prices.

I would disagree. I've been running heims for my steering and they've been much better and way stronger than the TRE's and mines a DD. Tractor supply places will usually carry course thread heims. These are fine thread and are much better for DD.

Can Man, the RE number he provided is the QA1 EXML 10/12 which is a steel left hand rod end that has a 3/4" shank and a 5/8" bore. The chromoly ones are the XM series which is what I use. The chromoly has about a 40,000 lb rating and the steel has about 16,000 lbs. You see why I run the Chromoly :)
For a track bar, using heims and a flex joint is a good idea.

If you use RE Heims in your steering linkages, don't say I didn't warn ya. I'll be generous and give you 6 months before you come back saying "I told ya so".

EDIT: If heims are so great in steering applications, why isn't everyone doing it?

Gotcha. I glanced over it, thought he listed the XM series QA1 rod ends, which are chromoly ones.

Thanks for giving me the 6 months, cause I'm already at a year. So generous. My rod ends are solid as the day i put them on.
In regards to why everyone is not using heims, well not everyone has the same uses, preferences, abilities, and ideas, but I personally know its changing. Just get the good heims, not the crap ones and you'll be okay.

Those heims look like they have a lot less meat on 'em than the ones I've been buying...

edit: And it's not like TRE's are immune to that either.

Montreal, September 27 2004 - The Automobile Protection Association (APA) announced that it has filed a motion to authorize a class action in Quebec against the Ford Motor Company on behalf of owners of certain 1997-2003 pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles. In its action, the APA is alleging premature wear and outright failure of components in the steering system.

Vehicles concerned include the popular 1997-2003 F150 and F250 (except Super Duty), as well as the 1997-2002 Expedition and Navigator. Approximately 300,000 vehicles were sold in Canada and 4.4 million in the United States. According to the APA, the tie rod ends in the steering system of these trucks can wear prematurely and actually separate in some cases, leading to a sudden loss of control.

That sounds more risky than heim joints!
