First time doing ball joints, do I need a special adapter to install an offset ball joint?

Hey y'all, alignment shop told me I it was time for new ball joints and said I should order a 1/2" offset joint for the passenger side. I haven't done this before but it seems pretty straightforward. Seems like you just need a ball joint press and a jeep dodge adapter kit. It's not clear to me if I will need a special adapter for that 1/2" offset Ball Joint? Anyone know that answer? Also, any recommendations for ball joint press kits would be great. Should I trust the lender kit from O Reilly or should I buy something nicer? Hoping to avoid a struggle. Also, is it dumb to only do the uppers? Shop said lowers are fine. Thanks!

There is an angle adapter to do ball joints on the Jeeps. Definitely get it. OTC is a good brand. I'd just borrow a set from one of the Parts Stores. Also, spray down the current ball joints with a rust penetrant. and let sit for a day or so. They pop right out if you have the ball joint press aligned right. Also, I use a small sledge hammer to pop on the top of the ball joint press.

There is a easier way with unit bearing camber shims!
