Putting bass in front, not rear.

OK, the amp you are refering too is the one for your Kicker in the rear correct?? We are meaning getting another smaller amp to power both of your front door subs, that way you can keep the bass setting on your head unit low, so your 6x9's int he rear won't be distorted at all, and your front door subs will have a nice, clean bass sound to them, along iwth your rear sub...

Ok, that makes more sense, thanks. I think that's going to be the route I end up taking, once I get the cash.

It's a strange setup, but it does sound good. It sounds good to the driver and passenger, but doesn't sound good in the back seats. I am fine with that considering it's usually just my girlfriend and I or myself alone.

gotcha, well whatever floats your boat I would suggest installing two tweeters in the front then.

Bass is nondirectional. If you have a generator in the back and it's not directly firing on you then it should just be there. You may be able to move your box to a new convenient location to change the location of resonance. And get a new amp with better controls.

you could wire in some type of crossover to keep the bass off the rear speakers. but for the price of a crossover you could just get some speakers that would handle the bass and/or track down and fix the rattles.

any car audio place sells 'bass blockers' they are capacitors that will put a cross over point at certain frequencies. I think I went with ones that blocked anything below 150 hz to mine.

Bass in the front is how God intended it, it just isn't easy to do. Ideally, it should be just like a high end home stereo, all sound coming from two equidistant points in front of you.

You will make a huge difference in the bass output of your front speakers if you'll mount them on a sturdy baffle and seal up any holes that would allow the back wave of the speaker from reaching the front. Make as close to a sealed box out of your door as possible, more or less.
