Project Telluride: tons, big rubber, and a clean slate.

With the new cooling and hood vents, jeep ran under 210 the entire trail. Ran a lot smoother and not getting so hot was damn awesome for sure. Ambient was in the 90's so it should have been plenty warm. Everything working together made a big difference for sure. The Napier hood vents kick ass. Definitely recommended.

Wow this jeep makes me miss my xj..........I crossed over to the dark side in my tj now. Just popped in to say this thing is awesome!!

Thanks for the kind words guys.
Yeah its performing well. The real test was carnage. And that will test pretty much any rig. I was happy how it did considering I build it and drove it. :roflmao:
Lots of big changes coming.

Change the true tracs for spools. It didn't bite as well as I wanted.
No I trailered. We ran 3 trails in 2 days. Didn't seem smart to drive it.

Yeah, the biggest recommendations I made to Mike after we went through/got through Carnage:

- Lockers: the ones currently in there were hindering him heavily in areas. There were some parts where only one tire was spinning front and rear, so he wasn't locking at all. These weren't small areas either, which can easily cause frustration. The spools and being locked fully 100% when needed should drastically help.

- Fuel Cell: his fuel would want to start dumping if getting front end high (typical of any XJ). With the stuff his rig will be seeing, having a fuel cell, some pick ups in the corners, and a good vent tube routing should really help.

- Limit straps...but he knows this better than I do

Just those things alone I think would have made his Carnage run at least a little easier.

Now, the doubler wouldn't hurt either :D

On 39.5 Boggers grooved and siped ...lol...and Detroits that work the XJ walked that trail pretty easy in 2014 , so I would say Mike would be set with fixed lockers . I never did have fuel issues leaking or starving I was and probably still am keeping the stock tank but cutting the floor and moving it up , but may do an RCI on the cargo floor...lol...I almost giggle a bit when I anticipate my first run to Carnage on the updated version ...lol...should make Carnage look more like Spring Creek .

Mike needs to modify those stock coil towers cut the bottom off and weld on a retainer that grabs the coils pig tail and capture coil at the base...then set the shocks and limits accordingly and will not be popping coils out like in previous pics...I have my limits set to let the coil drop a few inches I can also tighten them up or just unhook them for ramp champ time...I will be at some point going more bling than coil and shocks but need to finish what I started and get trail time before adding more to my plate.

l...should make Carnage look more like Spring Creek .

I very highly doubt this.

My buddy with an LQ9 on 47" LTBs I don't think was able to get up the waterfall this last weekend...

When it gets muddy there, it's just nasty.

The rest of the trail isn't too bad overall, but various parts can be diff hanger hell.

Running Carnage clean through is on my list. I can make everything but that damn waterfall.

Oh...the waterfall....excluded ...that was wet the day I went huge mote at the bottom and sprinkling , so pulled cable since I wanted to not break there and fi ish the trail .I have seen 40 sticky tires find a line but it took a beating and a looong time and I have only seen horsepower break things there ...lol...the hp just made for a bigger more destructive bounce when hitting the ledge... but rest of trail was easy so boatsided , atlas...116 wb...and cut 44s should be just a tad bit easier . I actually drive very conservative picking lines and looking for hook up rather than point it and use more gas when it stops I also use the crap out of a spotter which makes keeping a line much easier than driving blind .

Spring creek when really wet denied me and everyone I go with on the gate keeper it had a large undercut at the base with puddle so hitting hard just bounces you off and the wet granite has no grip ...so excluding these two obstacles I hold my to my previous statement...I like a difficult run but not so difficult you are on the winch all day ...lol...I need to get my but outside now and put more time in the rig so it may actually see a trail before the rubber turns to dust .

Yeah like Justin said, aside from the damned coils, the spools would have made the day a lot easier and faster. Wasn't a winch fest, but took cable on waterfall. Due to not making it. And exit because of no brakes.

Spools front and rear will take away any pleasure on street?
Detroit's front and rear are somewhat bearable.
Which doubler? Tell more!

Spools are irrelevant since the hubs up front. Rear is under power locked with a. Detroit so not much different. Used to welded or lunchbox or spool anyway.

Picked up a 231/300 doubler. It's still in need of being completed. But I have the parts n pieces.
