Stripping this front 60 sucks.

That is all.

ok here we go. So lets start with this, hindsight, i would have paid a shop to do this. There is zero room, most of the brackets are double, some triple walled, and fully welded. So i ate up a handful of cutting discs, portaband blades, and flap wheels. I thought i had a plan when i started, but the lack of room quickly put me in my place, and it became a whatever to get it done type thing. Only Advice i would give to anyone that has same axle is to get the buchings and their retainers out of the way first?

The shock mounts were the real pain in the ass. Mine were welded pretty much all the way around. And they are two separate 1/4" plates, that are also welded together. I cut the control arm mounts, and cast. Then took the portaband and cut along the tube outward through the shock mounts. Took forever. And left a lot to grind down. But was only was I could think to approach it. (Have a plasma but no air compressor to push it. -insert expletive here )

Yes.....it sucks as much as you said.

I didn't think it would be that bad and that you were exaggerating, I apologize for doubting you.

So I won a set of Napier hood vents, which I am super stoked about, and am looking into where i want to mount them. Visually, I like close to the cowl, as far to the outside as possible. (picture like a ford raptor but closer to the cowl)
However, cooling is more important than aesthetics. The jeep runs right at 210 pretty constant, so no real heat issues aside from running the high passes. When i tossed the fan i took out the overflow nipple on the radiator so i just decided to replace everything while im at it.
Ive got a new radiator, water pump, tstat, hoses, and electric fan, plus ill be adding the vents. Will my ideal location work?

just did a run to ouray for coloradofest. drove jeep out and back, roughly 280 miles each way.

she took the trails well, but was not a fan of starting back up at +13k' in elevation

and she got shut down on the optional line on poughkeepsie gulch, just not enough wheelbase to make it

Agreed. its already maxing out a 14" travel shock, rides well, wheelbase is where i want, no need to change stuff just because

Also coming up for the jeep. Picked up a hydro assist set up. Psc box agr ram and lines, as well as a little bit of a drop pitman which will allow me to get the track bar dropped away from the oil pan. Going to replace power steering lines while I'm at it as well.
Also, as I mentioned, I won the Napier hood vents so those will be going on, pretty sure I decided where. Also nabbed a new radiator since the electric fan broke the nipple for the over flow hose. And since it would be out of the way picked up new hoses, water pump, and tstat. So cooling system will be all new and fresh.
She should be pretty happy and running good in time for the next run at the end of the month.
