Project Olive Drab

I said that to myself many times over the last year. :D

But, at least it finally happened.

I'v been wanting to paint it for 8 years... gotcha beat.

Part of the issue is a suitable place to spray it. Stroker here is a bud and was kind enough to offer up his space to spray, getting decent weather and he and i schedule to mesh is another issue. But it's working out. Just want it done by NAC-Fest.

Wish i had the shop space you and Timmay have... and the other skills! :laugh2:

i thought about doing olive drab.....but cant have 2 olive drab 2dr's in the same chapter;)

so i haveta figure somethin else out

Well maybe we should all do it, it would be pretty sweet to have a trail run with 10 or so cherokees all painted to match. OD-XJ is such a trend setter isn't he?

bah. consistency is BORING, if not convenient, sometimes.

I'm off to pick up some supplies, i had to wait to purchase reducer when i knew the temps i would be spraying in.

Reducer, thinner, mixing canister, masks, tape. NAPA around the corner has what i will need. Final sanding tomorrow then the paint will finally be layed down.

I'll update through the weekend as it progresses.

:yelclap:

Cool!

yea.....i try to avoid CARC paint.

and Dan Starc has a solid tan one........mebbe i should do ACU pattern? *GHEY*

actually, am very tempted to go w/ bright blue to offset the gray bumpers and sliders....

Not just ghey, but woudn't it be a load of work?

I'm stuck in between trying to do a woodland (maybe a tiger stripe?) or a solid OG507, myself. I'll have to get blacked-out trim and bumpers, mirrors, and door handles tho (AMC-era Laredo - gotta get rid of all that chrome anyhow. This just provides an excuse...)

Now, if Hella would just make a "black magic" version of their E-codes, that would just stroke!

It would be a metric assload of work. 3 different colors, random pattern, squared off, etc. . .
