Project New Gen Comanche

I think what I have in mind for my 97+ MJ project will probably result in more front axle unsprung weight, but it'll be worth it.

Picked up seats for the race MJ.

New in the box 2009 Drag Pak Challenger seats. The guy immediately went with aluminum racing seats for his Challenger. These are flip-forward too.

This is the guy's car....... Awesome. Runs 10.7's.

Same Seats mine and truggy has

Truggy's seats had flip forwards? Thought they just cranked forward with the knob.

I know these aren't Challenger specific or super special..... But they are Mopar part numbered and labelled. The price was very nice though. Cheaper than Jegs or Checker/O'Rileys.

I'm willing to sacrifice the use of my jeep for mock up purposes. :D

Troy just so you know truggy had those seats and the drivers side was frenched into the tranny tunnel .... you will need to do the same for head room

Yep, I recall the notch that needs to be cut into the trans tunnel. Won't be a problem.

A little window into my crazy MJ obsessed brain....... :looney:

Recently did a 1-day roadtrip to Albuquerque to pick up yet another MJ. 880 miles round trip. This is what I brought back:

Yep. Engine fire. Wiring is toast. Dash and interior are junk from fire/smoke damage. Fire Dept responded quickly and doused it. Straight rust free body.

Now, many would write this off as a total loss. Not me.

All too often the MJ's to be found out there have floor rot issues:

Absolutely no fun to fix.

THIS....... is why I made the run:

A hood, header panel, full harness, fuel line and dash/interior all MUCH easier to fix than those rusty floors.

This COMPLETELY rust free truck will make an excellent candidate for a full '98+ update.

Wow. You have so many more issues than me. Thanks buddy.

 MJ #8. Since the deck of my trailer is being used for parking...... I warmed up my AAA card.... :D

'88 Pioneer: 4 banger, 4x4, 5 speed. Needs an engine. Nice topper with flip up side windows and a bedliner.

More parts success......

Picked up a decent set of wheels today. 16x6.5 and lug-centric so no worries with them fitting the front adapters and rear axle.

The tires are junk, so I'll have them dismounted then have the wheels polished. Hoping i can still get center caps.....

Figured I'd better mock these dually wheels up using the 235/85/16's on them and see how they fit/look....... I like!

They're almost a 32" tire and all appears to be a good size when paired with the 3.5" suspension lift up front.

Unfortunately....... I'm gonna have to send the spacers back for modification. The holes for the mounting lugs aren't large enough to get any sort of socket inside to tighten the lug nuts....... :banghead:

Not even a thin socket? I had to get one to use the spacers I had.

Not even a thin socket. I know what you mean, the spidertrax spacers need a thin chrome 12 point to fit in there. I have several 3/4" sockets of varying thicknesses and my Craftsman chrome in 3/8" drive is the thinnest.... no go. It's a R.C.H. too big.

Got some progress on the race MJ.

About 2.5" drop up front by cutting 2 coils from the OEM springs. Added stiff shocks front and rear as well. Unfortunately I couldn't find any long u-bolts to get the rear done.

Front done with rear at stock height and 235 75 15 tires:

Rear with the race wheels:

What I cut out:
