limit straps on leaf springs? that's a new one for me

oh and i put some shackles with bew poly bushings in the front and it definately made the front end feel more solid. everything i do to this truck makes it more and more of a joy to drive.

I drove it to pa then bounced it over some rocks this weekend.

the good: feels real solid when wheeling, no tin can cherokee noises, drove maybe 900 miles and i didn't have to fix anything, turning radius is great for a fullsize truck. dare i say better than my xj was, even without the front locker, she climbs like a boss.

and now i want to do some things to it:
-i need lower gearing in the form of second transfer case,
-want fuel injection,
-leaf springs up front are pretty gay, but they worked fine. they might stay in there longer than i was anticipating.
-i need wheels with less backspacing. my tires hit my inner fenders out back real bad, i helped it out with some long bumpstops, but severely limited my travel because of that.
-hydro assist would be cool later down the road, especially if i try running huge tires on the street with even more backspacing than i have now.
-front locker would be badass (duh)
-blew out a rear pinion seal.

I guess i can say i was happy with how it performed being its first run since being chopped in half and whatnot. still a lot of work ahead of me though.

oh yea. carburetor, v8, no overdrive, 5000+ lbs of unaerodynamic metal, loaded up for camping and wheeling, on 39" bias ply tires= 12mpg.

id say thats not too bad considering what it is

hell no that's not bad MPGs - way better than I was expecting you to get actually

also on sunday i did some go-fast stuff with my buddy who has a fox 2.5 coilover and total chaos fab equipped tacoma.

I tried to keep up, and it didn't do half bad. granted he couldnt really open it up to its full potential on the trails we were running. stay tuned for chase videos.

here, have a couple pictures. im sure quite a few more will surface as people upload them.

and before the haters start hating, bed looks a little tweaked in the last picture for some reason, im chalking it up to an illusion. also, passenger door isnt shut all the way and bed wasnt latched all the way.

Looks good mang! I'd say 12mpgs certainly isn't bad all things considered. So whats the plans for FI, TBI or TPI setup?, bother can be had pretty darn cheap.

Had to slip it a lot. So it still made bad smells. Gonna add more transfer cases before i wheel it again

205/205/205 do it you won't.

If you could get a 2.72:1 planetary set in front of that 205, you'd get up to 145:1 which would be righteous. For reference, I'm at 163:1 in my low low and I wouldn't want it any lower. Half the time I use 2nd in low low anyway. But it is awesome for crawling.

If you do a 203/205 doubler, you're only at 100:1. You have 4.10s right?

That's still a lot better than what you have, but deeper is usually better. And you can always knock down to the 2:1 for wheel speed.

EDIT: looks like you can get a 32-spline 241 behind a 465 using the NP208 adapter. Then grab the NP241 from an NV4500 with a 32 spline output. Bolts right up. Double that to your NP205 and kick dicks.
