Project "girly" jeep

Imma say eff it and put a lockright up front before the crawl since its sitting in my garage.

do it!!!!its easy as crap to put in and totally worth it.... im planning on doing a long term review on the aussies, i think after 10k im going to tear the axles apart and take pictures of the wear on the lockers and write up how well theyre still working. everyone knows aussies are good but i havent seen a lunchbox locker after 10k of wheeling and dd'ing

Well, I was gonna go wheeling this weekend but since I can't really justify spending the money I have on gas and being broke all week, I'll tear it out of my spare axle and get it ready to install! :D

I was about to ask if you ever got the decals. Lol. I hope those worked for ya. They look good on there. Like I said before I usually make them wider but that size looks better to me.

they look awesome! i love the font and the size.... ive been meaning to pm you about more but ive been crazy busy and it will probably wait till after the crawl

Ok the good news is we will be wheeling this at the crawl come Hell or high water.... the bad news is something in the rearend isn't right.... its a loud howl couples with a fast high pitched rattling noise and all of it only occurs under load. At any speed you take your foot of the gas and its silent as a church mouse..... thoughts? I'm thinking pinion bearing? The gears are worn oddly but I'm right at .004" on the lash and they turn free without clicks

My 8.8 did the same thing.

Turned out the pinion nut was loose, put locktite on it, and tightened it up, havent heard it since. Not saying yours is the same problem, but its worth a shot.

My 8.25 did that. It was the outer pinion bearing.

Annoying as hell! I could hear it over the radio wide open.

I ended up coasting down as many hills as possible to enjoy some silence.

So im humble enough to admit when someone else is better than me and Tyler at Rocksolid has xj rocker replacements down to a science. The price comes out a little more than a set of sliders but what you get is worth so much more, plus tyler will make sure its clean strong and just what youre looking for.

Looks really good!

Did you angle the rocker down a couple of degress so water doesnt sit on it?

Nah, they'll just drive real fast and slam on the brakes! :D Doug, Sam's jeep is way cooler than any of yours ever were! Good work!
