Project Geosynchronous Orbit

Hey....I just realized. I'm still owed seat time in this pile. I might wheel at Rocktoberfest after all :roflmao:

You win yet?

I wish. I'll just copy/paste what I posted in our local thread.

Fastest lap time I think was Miller again with a 22 minute lap.

My first lap was 33 minutes. Second was 37 with a fuel stop.

Hopefully I can shave off some more time with the linked/coilover'd rear and see if I have any funds for better steering. It's like rowing a boat right now through the trees.

The course was super tight and littered with rocks just big enough to be annoying and have to slow down for (at least in my case).

Everything was going great until the third lap when we didn't notice the volt gauge plummeting. Voltage regulator plug popped off and it died. Hiked back to the pits and grabbed a jumpbox and hiked back out. Finished the third lap in time for them to call it.

Being able to race down the full length of the drag was pretty sweet. I was hitting the middle of fourth gear by the time I had to start braking. Probably somewhere around 50 mph.

The I80 stretch was sick, but sketchy with slow steering. Especially when it started raining after we got the thing running again. I had no problem running down it around 35-40 mph before the thing died. After the rain started I wasn't confident enough to go above 25-30.

Issues:
- RCI fuel cell is now leaking at all 4 corners
- Front frame side bumpstop mounts starting to pull from the frame (going to brace the underside back to the underside of the frame to help this)
- Front passenger caliper lost those little rubber block things that hold it in place
- H2 wheels are taking a serious beating
- Might have a small hole in one of my tires, not sure yet. Could just be the bead leaking
- Dipstick still popping out. Might drop the pan for a fourth time and weld on a new bung/get a lokar locking dipstick.

you cant build shock towers, they'll fold like a taco.

Says who? They must be tarded.

Show up for wheeling on Thursday or Friday and you got it

I can't :bawl:

MAYBE on Friday but that's a giant maybe, intended to be interpreted as "sorry, ain't doable"... its ok, with all the interest built up over the years soon enough I'll be able to cash in on an entire nacfest :roflmao:

No problem. Me and my bffl can share driving duties.

So im pretty set on having my fuel cell further back to help with weight distribution. Just trying to figure out how to close off the back with tube. Going to use the normal 1.75 x 1.20 DOM.

Protecting 35 gallons of fuel is a we bit more important then a stupid spare

I envisioned the spare hanging off of the new tubework angled downward similar to how all the cool kids do it.

Upside down second one would work well for that. Keeps the spare lower.

as long as the fuel cell doesn't get raped by a boulder in a well placed rollover.
