Project Geosynchronous Orbit

they look cool when angled. unless there's a shitty mt/r with 14 plugs and a plastic bag in the sidewall back there.

If your counting on straps to hold your spare in place, put some sort of bike lock, chain or something like that on it to reassure it stays with the Jeep. I have helped at many RCQ's, and you wouldn't believe the stuff we have picked up driving back out of the park after the race. Mostly spares, but also tool bags, straps and broken parts. Some trails look like a vehicle just exploded... parts, tools, tires strewn all over the place!! Usually in high speed sections too...

Yeah I didn't end up solid mounting the spare tire. I basically laid it up at an angle like pictured, welded a piece of 2.25" exhaust tubing on the bed floor towards the rear to act as a foot for the tire, and then crossed the straps in an X. It's well planted but I definitely plan to add a chain to keep it from flying out.

Sam had the lamest burnout in the driveway before we loaded it on the trailer.

But I'll give him some credit, that thing sucked at burnouts. I tried to pull 2nd and it just fell on its face.

I think I used all 100 horsepower for that one.

Race car status.

Tired of busting leaf springs (took out another this past race) so I'm linking the rear of this pig over the winter. Going to finish out the next race with Profenders in the rear.

Speaking of Profenders, the shocks are decent quality, but their customer service BLOWS hardcore. I have a thread in the bad sellers section on Pirate discussing my experience.

Thought you were getting two?

Nice sock!

After talking with my better half, she and I agreed that I should do whatever I need to do to my MJ before we get a house, since the spending on the MJ will come to a halt other than just taking it out and fixing anything that breaks.

So I said eff it and I'm linking the rear over the winter. That's what the two 14"s are for.

And that's a pillow

Tell your better half to talk to my better half so I can rid of my front coils/shocks for cool bling too!

Of course, I already hit the "halt" part of that sentence. :(

Tell her it will ride better with the ori's on it bill

Got the coilovers all ready for our annual Fall Crawl trip up to Field & Forest in NH. Great place, great times, and had a blast.

Here's some photos of how I did the coilovers. All plate is 3/16" (lower shock tabs are ruffstuff and 1/4" thick ) and all tube I added is 1.5 x .120 DOM.

And some Fall Crawl pics.

Made some bumpstop mounts. Running some Fox 2.0 bumps with 2.5" travel.

Last Line Mtn race of the season is this Saturday. Going to revalve the shocks and paint up the mounts tonight. Probably change the oil too. Then go beat the hell out of this thing.

or catch on fire. No matter what happens it should be exciting!
