Project Geosynchronous Orbit

Amazing how stable the video is, Go-Pro?

Yup. It was on a suction cup mount at the front of the roof. You can see it in the group picture of us.

Banged out a t-case skid over the weekend, and braced it back to the frame rail as well as a small gusset in hopes that it will also double as a traction bar mount. We'll find out. The 1/4" plate bolts on, just need to countersink the holes and get hardware.

Also used my torch to knock out a d-ring tab, then ran out of oxygen. Did one in less than 2 minutes. Screw using an angle grinder for that.

Adam also made some gaskets for me and resealed the NP435/D20 and the adapters inbetween. HUGE help, thanks dude! We also figured out what was causing 1st gear to grind, it was a bolt that was 1/8" too long. Trimmed it up and it's as quiet as a straight cut granny gear should be .

Should be getting my Viair stuff as well as my traction bar stuff this week so I can get it all done before NACfest.

So im guessing the hoop wasnt too tight of a radius? Looks great, almost like you had a clue what you were doin

Colin said I could have the MJ if the transmission leaks again.

Use crisco instad of gear oil for the untimate no leak solution

I wonder if Adam's D30 pinion bearings will last longer if he tries this.

That hill sucked. It tried to eat my A Pillar.

Irony. Right here. :D

Turns out this thing sucks so Colin gave it to me over the weekend.

Turns out Chris drives like a vag so I had to take it back. He was too scared to shift to second gear :D

Haha, so true.

For those who weren't at NACfest, Colin's MJ did catch on fire at one point due to an oil leak.

Yup...I kinda figured someone was going to remember that quote

Wasn't too bad though, Bill put it out for me within a second or two. Just goes to show that EVERYONE should have a fire extinguisher in arms reach from the driver's seat. There really is NO excuse.

 That was funny. Hows your rear wheelwell? :D

its just fine. waiting to get covered by some tube :)

Just updating the thread with the final modifications I finished before I wheeled it at NACfest. Thankfully nothing broke except a sidewall in an MTR (plugged and still holds air) and a small engine fire that was put out quickly (oil leaking on the exhaust).

Here's the traction bar I made. Lower link is 2" x .250" DOM, upper is 1.5" x .250" DOM. 7/8" heim at the shackle, the rest are poly bushings. I bought the Ruffstuff traction bar kit and it worked out perfectly. It's actually on sale right now and I highly recommend it.

Here's the OBA setup. Pretty much copied Jeff (XJEEPER) in this aspect as he seemed to like his. I LOVE this setup. Works perfectly, I would just have to add a larger tank or a second compressor in order to run air tools.

Tank and compressor mounted in the bed.

0-200PSI gauge and on-off power for the 85-105PSI VIAIR pressure switch.

Bilstein 7100s mounted as well as the limit straps. I may or may not move the straps, not sure I like them yanking on the thin shock tower.

And the d-ring tabs I torched out of 1" plate.

Finally here's an overall shot of the finished engine bay, interior, and exterior.

This thing is still a work in progress however, as I'm currently building a gottrikes bender and will be caging it in the near future. Following that will be getting the winch working as well as some t-case shifters.

still has no lights and shitty sidewalls other then that its pretty sweet
