Project: Freak of Nature

^^this

A good grade 8 bolt in that set up will work, it's not like you are running a 1000hp and 44's on a bouncer.....yet :D

Step drills are some of the most used tools I have in the garage.

Thought about using a step bit but decided to just buy new ⅝ bit. Took all of about 5 minutes total to drill out both knuckles.

Gonna modify the front stiffeners to end right behind my bumper mounts. Both front frame rails already have metal welded to them from previous collision damage. They are pretty much already plated behind bumper mounts.

Thru a pair of coil springs under jeep today to see how it all lined up. Looks like I need to bring axle back an inch or so to make coil line up a little better. Still need to figure out a better lower coil spring pad on the axle. Thinking it needs to be angled back a little to help with coil angle.

Also got steering arms and track bar made up out of PVC pipe. Angles don't look too bad just hanging there. Still need to cut off factory lower arm mounts so I can see where I'm at at full bump.

angles will look waaaay better with the steering arm straight back, nevermind, I was seeing the sway bar.....

It could probably go to the passenger side a little more but then it gets into radius arm. Wanted to keep a little space in between them

Well had a pretty productive day outside yesterday afternoon and all day today.

Got the crossmember cut and welded up into a 3 piece crossmember. Still have a couple gussets to put on crossmember but it's pretty much done.

Then decided to start putting it back together to try and get it off jack stands. Had to move axle mount for track bar over a little further and get track bar made. Ended up about ¼" difference from centered so I can live with that. Still have lots to do to it but it's getting there.

Did you stretch the front at all? make sure on up travel you are not rubbing the firewall (cutting the tire).

I pushed my front axle forward about an inch, made a huge difference in clearances...

I didn't take any measurements of where axle was at with the old setup. Currently it looks like it's pushed forward a bit. Doesn't look like it will get firewall wall. Will definitely have to bump stop.
