Project "Constructive Deconstruction"

Re: Project "I change my mind more than a girl"

You working at the same place in Sterling Heights again? I'm in Fraser now with a much better setup garage for jeep and dune buggy projects...:)

same job, same place, same residence... different car. haha. left the jeep at home, its my attempt at not dumping money into it. butttt... the recent wheeling trip has shown me i need frame rail stiffeners. and if the welders out, should just build a real crossmember. i can bring it down if your willing to fab... and chance another 3am evening. :kissyou:

PS - the dune buggy looks slick. i want a ride around town.

i was a little concerned about sand blasting a machined surface. but aside from the BJs, they will all be machined, drilled out, or chopped off. i was also using a fairly fine particulate, not aggressive blasting at all. i think itll be fine. i get to start machining soon! but idk if ill be able to get lathe time to turn my spindles. not that the turning is very time consuming, but tacking down and setting up the machine might be. we have customers to make happy... ill figure something out.

Re: Project "I change my mind more than a girl"

Need lockouts? I'll cut ya a deal on new superwinch ones :D

Don't overthink the blasting machined surfaces. Remember talking about Chrysler tolerances? Haha

Looking good man!

The previous title was more appropriate, because he changes his mind more than a girl, which is why the thread title has changed, again. :D

Should be project "hey look at me I'm showing pics of more parts I bought that will never go on my jeep and I will sell in two months"

Hahahahaha! Ju guys!

Haters gonna hate...

the only way the WJ knuckles and locking hubs arent going on the jeep is if my measurements are off and cant be corrected. ive been PMing, Dale i think it is, about the conversion he did. been very helpful and always has input on ideas i bounce off of him. measure 436345 times, mill once? worste case, ill just throw heims on the stock knuckles and cut my losses. ill only be out a case of beer and $50, ive spent more at the bar. too bad your long arms arent up for grabs now john, id be over on my first day off with cash and cases. and a bathing suit... the pool looked awesome.

that was my 24th choice... but its too long. so we had to go to number 25.

brennen should be stopping by when ever he is up with some goodies for me.

dirty ass machine... i wanted to stick it in one of the big, nice, new ones to make for a better photo op, lol. but the machining is the important part. :)

space is limited, so we decided to just put it on a pallet and work around another fixture that doesnt see a TON of use. i learned how to write a program today just for practice. fairly simple stuff. i did sissy out and decide to go to the parts store to make some more measurements instead of hitting the green button, and i feel that mine are spot on. will be machining monday or so. im not in a huge rush to get it done, just a side project.
