Project "Constructive Deconstruction"

Re: Project "I change my mind more than a girl"

meh... fully welded doesnt appeal to me. id still have to replace the axle when a lunchbox was bought.

dans logic of getting it home, replacing the axle, and fixing any collateral damage... all paying for a lunchbox speaks the most. especially if i consider my time invested as shop hours. time is something i dont have a lot of this time of year. with the amount of ****s that being sick is making me give... im not 100% satisfied with the welding job my drunken ass did on the spiders. i probably wont even open up the diff. according to my father, the jeep has a CEL, that takes first priority.

the fozzy is a neat idea, but i think id trust it more in the front, with lockouts, so it could still be driven home (as the jeep is a weekend wheeler, not a trailer queen) in something like a 60, with a much beefier carrier. i only have flux core at home, its pointless for me to buy gas when ill be in royal oak/sterling heights on saturday. i dont want all that slag in my diff.

for $100, considering i have 1 smashed light, and 1 cracked... it couldnt go wrong with plug and play boxes. just needs a fresh coat.

after this weekend, all i should need is a set of long arms, *cough*cough*hurrytheF'upjohn*cough*, and i should be set for a long time.

oh! how about, "project: i change girls more than my mind."

Who makes these?? I want a set!
Thanks

my son in law is going to school for automotive technician or something and he says that there are guys out there that are using student loans to buy all Snap on Tools and boxes. he bought a clearance box at Lowe's.

thats nuts...i would love to have a sweet snap on box and shiny new tools, but i would never drop a loan for it. for now, used boxes from clist do the job just fine.

though i will say, im glad i didn't have a credit card or an xj when i was in college. i actually had free time back then

Re: Project "I change my mind more than a girl"

I still am... And I don't even have the tools anymore!!! Granted, I didn't use student loan money for tools, but it def paid some tool bills off... Only the 'extra' $500 here, $1,100 there... Mostly cause I'd register for a class to find out I didn't like it, or it didn't fit in my schedule so then that money would be refunded to me...
