Project: Betsy

my uncle in florida heard about it over the CB waves.

also my distant cousin that works for NASA said one of the big satellites was down for a few hours while trying to uplink to the rest of the globe about flex`s new tires. (excuse me, SHOES) it appears the news was too much for NASAs satellites to compute.

im going to fire up my HAMB radio so i can spread the news to deceased grandfather in another dimension.

Hey, the zombies will stay dead now so they don't have to hear about my tires! :D

A little update for those who care:

I bought a set of frame stiffeners from Brian at WF. Also I am ordering a set of Ironman4x4 Control arms(Thanks Mac!) and am gonna put in an order with Jason at RC for 4.10's for the front axle. Now that I think of it I may get new hubs while I am at it just in case. My goal is to have everything but the stiffeners in by the trail clean up. If not, I definitely have to trim the rear fenders and bumpstop the front by then.

Do you have spare front shafts?
If so, clean them up, install new u joints and install your new unit bearings on those. just swap the assemblies. Then keep your old bearings on the other shafts as trail spares. It's way quicker to swap them when you don't have to undo the stub shaft.

Good thinking Nate. I have an entire axle that nobody wants. I may just take the locker and shafts out and scrap it. I kinda want a selectable up front so I can sell the lockright and get a good portion of my money back.

Didn't know you had a front locker. We need to discuss! Need ammo? And bunches of it?

Dude, 99% of this board is awesome. The other 1% burns out sooner or later. That being said, I'd say 99.99% of MWC is awesome.

:kissyou: Ok, this is getting a little to fruity, even for me.

I hate you, Aaron. :D

Also put in my JCR taillight housings.........no picture yet, apparently my memory card on my phone lost a bunch of pictures.

Figured I'd update my thread since everyone else is doing it.

Did some wheeling with that setup for a while and everything was going good until this:

Shortly after I got a new hatch for it and she was good to go. My rear brakes were toast and didn't feel like rebuilding the drums again so i finally swapped in the 8.8 that had been collecting dust. It's got 4.10's, discs and a Detroit true trac.

Rkates came by and regeared it for me.

Picked up a set of 33's and wheels

Broke her in at winterfest and it worked great besides the rear driveshaft being too short.

The crawl came around and Mike(cardboard) offered me a trailer ride so we loaded up and chetta came over to my place and rode down there with us. I don't have pics but all I can say is it rained.....and rained.

After the crawl it was time to get ready for Moab. Replaced the front shafts with a set of alloys I scored from chetta. While I was at it I replaced my tired unit bearings.

Durbin showed up at my house the day before we left for Moab. We loaded up and hit the road that morning.

The jeep did great. Almost backed out of this trail but Wheeler proved the cali guys wrong and walked up this before me.

Seriously....that view was incredible

Poison spider mesa

The combination of Brad's rollover and wheeling next to cliffs made me realize I needed a cage so after Moab I called up BrianHo and set up an appointment to get some toobs welded on along with stiffeners and rocker replacements.

Ended up picking up an LED lightbar on black Friday so I got a pic of that once I got it on.

Don't mind the rusty tubes....that paint blows. Stay tuned for more updates coming soon!

It has seen quite the transformation from the green Jeep that hit the bus of nuns. Looks like it functions well and does what you built it for.
