Press corps stands for Obama but not Bush?

They got up to make sure nobody was on the teleprompter cord.

The press core is predominately liberal and most are, Kneel and Bob.

You know, I don't remember anything in the UCMJ saying you had to cheer for the President. Even those Marines that Obama was in front of showed him the respect due his office. . . but that press corps should be flogged publicly in the town square.

It is against protocol to applaud or chear while "Hail the Chief" is being played for the President.

...the respect due his office. . .

You should know the difference between respecting the "rank" and respecting the individual. HUGE difference.

I sure respect a lot of officers I work with/for....because I have to. But it isn't always the case that you respect the PERSON behind that rank.

I guess that was the 2nd difference....one walked in to Hail to the Chief, the other didn't

:D

It's really hard to hold you tongue sometimes though. Of course, I'm in a pretty sweet position right now. Can't be promoted because of the amount of time in that I have left, can't be fired because I'm the only one who's actually know's what he's doing (both experience and training wise), and they won't demote me for the same reason. I push the line frequently now and I've found most people I work with/for both respect me and like me. Ahh...the good life.

You guys might be reading too much into this. It may be just the difference between the response you'd get to any lawyer from a reporter -vs- a Marine.

Do any of you recall that Pres. Bush would insist that the press corps remain seated and that he held a very informal type of 'meet' at most every opportunity? I seem to recall these circumstance.

Also notice that Bush went and stood with the troops shaking hands and posing for pictures, whereas Obama shook hands only with the high ranking officers directly behind him.
