PPThumbs.ptn.pif ??

It's a virus.

As long as you havne't opened it you problably don't have it, but somebody does. If it comes from somebody that you know kindly tell them that they're infected (After all, it's better to tell them than for their spouce to read about them in the paper!).

I can't tell you what the virus is, it changes the name of the attachment I'm sure, but if you want to go ahead and forward the e-mail (with the attachment) to me at [email protected] and I'll identify it for you.

I've received a few emails with this in it in the past few days...

If it's like most of the other virii...the 'person' indicated as sending the message likely didn't: the virus scabs addy's out of the infected user's address list.

As always...be cautious opening emails from strangers, or those with bizzare subject headings.

I rely on the (free) Mc Afee in my Hotmail acct and Norton AV that I paid for. Being a hard-headed sort, I TRY to open those attachments, just to see what kinda stuff they are made of. LOL So far, Mc Afee has squashed them and disallows me from opening.
