popper and imap server for solaris

Anybody know of a good FREE pop/imap package for solaris9 on sparc. Configuring a new mail server and want to play with some. Currently running iplanet msg5 but want to get away from that ldap crap. Put qpopper in last nite and am making the imap now but would like to find a 'both in one package'...

I don't know much about sparc boxes personally. Exim etc... won't work on them?

I hear others talk about Courier and Cyrus for them.

It has been trial and error, I'm looking for something simple that requires no special skills to make and install, want to use mbox and keep the imap stuff in users $HOME so I can keep a leash on the pack rats and not fill up /var with BS they 'might' need some time in the next 100 years.... main packages seem to be for bsd and linux, for solaris this means gcc, various libs, perl and some other stuff that makes restoring a PIA. I want to do a plain vanilla OS, patches, make the servers and go from there. I've wasted 5 days on this so far, well, not 'wasted' now I know what WON'T work... that friggin GCC was 180meg compressed and took 15 min to install, sheesh...

Think I solved it, downloaded source code from u of w for their imap/popper and built it. The precompiled ssl binaries that sun supplied were buggy and would not allow the source to compile so I had to download the ssl source from ssl.org and build that first. Then it did not like the sun make so that was next, then it started complaining about ar so a quick ln -s fixed that.... At any rate the whole package is up and running, now I have to figure out how these certificates work...what a day, glad the daughter had her top off the TJ so I could relax a bit running out for the dinner supplies. Forgot how tense I get when doing system builds and error fixes like that... Talk about building an XJ from the ground up.... wonder if I should do the new version of sendmail while I got the environment setup for it before I harden it...
