Polyurethane motor mounts

Energy Suspension Poly motor mount inserts. The through-bolt sleeve slides out. Going to grind out the old mounts, and install these in the shells when the flexplate comes in.
Never knew these were around, found em by digging around the internet. These things were $40. They're on a few sites, usually on backorder. I bet they transmit major vibrations, but I doubt I'll ever see one sag.

I'll do a write up these, after my flexplate job is finished. Eye candy time!

Pretty neat, although it doesn't address the stock bushing housing which is a fairly weak point in the design.

I have the MORE Bombproof poly motor mounts on my rig and I love 'em. As long as you keep your engine running smooth the vibes aren't bad at all.

Colin had these on his old XJ and ruined them in about 3 months.

Yep...I destroyed those exact ones pretty fast, but I also had a cracked exhaust manifold. I think that sped up their failure.

Honestly, I wouldn't have wasted your money. I'm going to pick up some Brown Dogs when I get the cash.

Those inserts are tougher than they seem. Just need to bond them to the lower half of the mount.

I'm going to clean off all the greasy mold release, and glue the fawkers into the shells with polyurethane windshield adhesive. Then, I try to break em!

usually I hear about a broken motor mount flexing the exhaust and breaking the manifold, not the other way around.

That's typically what I hear too, I suppose in theory he'd be thinking about the heat though. I wouldn't think heat would affect poly nearly as bad as it would the rubber OEM type though.

I wish I had taken pics then. They started melting and fusing with the outer factory metal shell after a couple of months (3-4 I think). The sleeve developed play in both of them and it all went downhill then.

I'm going to get Browndog rubbers next.

It's not that I'm doubting you in the least, I just had always heard polyurethane held up better to heat.
