Poker Flat run

i am going to run Poker Flat on Monday if anyone is interesting in riding alone or tagging along in their jeep. It is an easy to mild trail and should be completely below the snow line. The trail starts in Downieville.

Last minute but I just got the call that I will be staring work the following Monday and I need to get out while I can.

no worries, this is my last Monday before working again, that is why is is such short notice. Let go on a Sunday run sometime, I want to do as many day runs as I can this summer.

Well Poker Flat had some patches of snow but not much at all, the trail should be clear in another week or two. I mad it through a few but being alone I did not want to risk getting stuck, even a little. I will post some picks later.

looking forward to see those pics, my buddy has family up there and he keeps tellin me about some crazy trails out that way. one trail takes you to a gold mine, seems pretty cool.

That is a fun trail. Kinda spooky if you camp down in the flats around all those big trees, completely blocks out all light and given the history of the flats and all.

So where is poker flat? Are you planning on doing a write up on it?

Yeah I will do a write up for this trail although I was not able to run much of it. Poker Flat starts at highway 49 on the edge of Downieville and can be found in the Wells book for Northern California.

Pictures may have to wait. I can't find the cord to my camera and my wife is out of town with her laptop, which has the card reader. :banghead:
