Playing with the details

I beleive the crawl is the 4th of July weekend isn't it, I am not going to Harlan toll August 28th. I finished making the wiring mounts on the driverside, just need to make a mount for the remote res for the hydro steer and then I can move to making mounts on the pasengerside.

finally got all the elcetrical tab mounts done today and painted up all the tube. Tomorrow I will mount it all up and move on the next part of the project, Once I get alll the repairs done, I will work on making new body panels and a paint job, Still waiting for my buddy to stop by and get progress pics

my buddy stopped by this morning and took a bunch of pictures, he has to take his wife to a doctor appointment and then he will upload them, as soon as they are up I will post them up

another one of my friends stopped by a few minutes ago to get pics also, wonder which one will get them uploaded first

I have every thing finished under the hood except for the battery gound cable, I will pick one up in the morning that is the right length and then I will be abe to start it up again. I have to fix the control arm mount on the rear upper frame end next and then I can cut the upper cage off and redo it. should go fairly quick now since I am not really designing anything but just replacing it now

Well I built all new upper control arm mounts on the upper frame end this morning and it is finally sittng on it's own feet again. Now I can start cutting off the upper cage and redoing it

What size air shocks are you running?
It looks like you only have a few inches of up travel.
Have they lost air during your rebuild?
Thanx, Stukboy

they are 16", just let the nitrogen out of them so I can take them in and out, it is not sitting at ride height right now

I have the A,B and C pillers along with the top side bars mocked up and strapped in place now. The a runs up and back and down creating the c piller like before only it goes all the way to the back this time. One thing I never really liked was how the front of the roof seemed taller than the back edge so I have it slopeing down in the front this time. It looks a whole lt better this time I think. I still need to make all the cross tubes along with the roof bars. I might work on it a little more today but got so dang hot out there that I decided to stop for a while and went for a swim to cool off.

pics?

My buddy is supposed to stop by this afternoon so we should have some pics tonight, the plus side is I wil have a bunch more done by then, just sitting here waiting till I can go out and make noise without the neighbors complaining

plans changed, A little more progress today, I have the rear cross supports in along with the rear roof cross bar in. I still have to do the dash cross bar and front roof cross bar along with the roof spreaders. Ran out of cut off blades so I will have to pick up some more to continue. New pics should be up tomorrow afternoon, my buddy will be stopping by to take some pics again, he forgot he had to take his wife to a doctors appointment today

darn neighbors. thats why i live out in the middle of now where. cactii and mesquite dont complain about noise

Well front Dash bar and front window/roof bar are in, this time I have 1.75 sleeved with 1.50 tube to double up the strength there since there is no way to tie it into the lower cage for triangulation strength. I have been thinking on how I want to do the roof spreaders and have pretty much decided to do an X so that it will add triangulation against the top othe A piller. It was just 3 points on the rear roof bar to the 1 point in the center of the front roof bar last time which is probably why it was bent down the way it did after 3 rolls. I am also trying to decide if I want to do the upside down windsheild V with 1.50 intead of 1" this time, I checked and the 1" did not bend but I am thinking stronger this time would not be a bad idea anyways

My buddy stopped by so we could get everything welded up that was done so far, he took some more pics since we needed to turn it around in the shop to finish up some welds
