since everything is done and ready for the comp, I have been playing with the details for a way to kill time, finally added an 1/8th inch aluminum roof and some stock mirrors for the hell of it

Richard, I hope this comes across like I want it to... :D

I absolutly despised your rig! Now, I really really like it. Bravo on making a very nice XJ buggy.

I never really liked the old body panels but they sure were easy to replace when damaged, now all the sanctioning bodies want a 3-d appearance in the class I have to run. so I had to do it. At least I can whip out new panels really quick since I got it down pat on these ones now

Dont get me wrong that rig has got to be the coolest thing ive seen

but can u even call that and XJ anymore ... :laugh2:

like i said AWESOME rig ...

Looks sharp!
Are you going to extend the web down from the center (under the mirror) to part of the side and rocker area? No need to finish the whole thing (back) off, but going off that center would finish off the look.

I am gonna go from under the mirror back. I am not gonna do the boatside portion. I am gonna leave it plain since it is easy to take another can of rustolium to touch up when I scrap it up. I am gonna go get a new sheet of lexan for the door skins and save these for thrashing on now and then. It will be a while before I do the rest, gotta trip this weekend and the weather has gotten really cold which makes painting with laquer really hard since it keeps trying to blush

well. decided to make some more changes after bending it up pretty good at the Werock Put up or Shut up. I decided to go ahead and narrow the nose since I needed to redo some tube anyways. The plan was to narrow the front nose clip, move the bumper back flush with it and get the winch mounted behind the grill, here is the progress so far

All the front tube and wheelwells are gone now, gotta get started on tube work now. I will also be cutting all the roof tube from the beltline up off and replacing it also

So where's the radiator? Was it gone from the front in the past or is this a new project as well? You sure do some cool stuff. My never ending project is mostly just collecting dust although I do gaze at it every now and then and exercise the gray matter a bit. :) Jeff

radiator was moved to the back behind the seats when I buggied it out, you can see it under the muffler in this pic

Doh! I've seen the build and such but I guess I never realized you had put the radiator back there...nor the muffler up there! Sorry to muddle up your nice tech thread. Jeff
