Pikes Peak?

I did a slightly better search and came up with this:

4WD 1971 Scott Marlott Chevrolet-powered Jeep 14:35.900 DR

Non-Production 1973 Bob Seivert Chevrolet Jeepster 13:41.030 DR

Class F 1989 Don Adams Jeep 13:31.440

So, I think it's a safe bet that the first two aren't XJs. I'd be curious to know more about the 1989 - anyone have more info?

not in the jeep, but i did just drive it a bit over a month ago..

Ya I've been working up there finishing the concrete retention ponds, and some asphalt that needed relplaced. It is Very crappy that PPHWY is all paved. I think a race up old stage road/upper gold camp from the broadmore in the springs to victor/cripple creek would be a stellar race, and its ALL dirt.

Sucks that it's all paved now.
It does suck that it's all paved now, but the alternative was to close the road. Environmental issue. Seems all the gravel would wash off the road in the winter, then in the spring, the state DOT would truck tons and tons of new gravel up there, just to repeat the cycle the following year. Seems it was having a detrimental effect on the mountain.

I drove up with a friend in a carbureted CJ when it was still dirt/gravel. 'Old 304 would just barely stay running at the top. Passed three model-A Fords coming up on the way down.
