So who has done it? I want to do a dana 300 and a 44 up front. So I was thinking it would probabley be cheaper to do a passanger side drop. I woulddnt have to buy a flip kit and a front axle would proibley be easier to come by. The only problem i could see would be the exhaust would need to be put on the other side. Can anyone else think of any other problems?

Did it on my XJ last season. Since scrapped the whole thing. Worked really well. Problems... Big hole in floor to fit the case. exhaust, trackbar, What tranny you running. aw4 will bolt up. AX15 requires some mods. bolt pattern on axles. Nothing really to bad. I'm sure other stuff screwed me but thats all I can recall now. dave

im running aw4 what problems idd you run in with ur trac bar? how did you fix it? Was the hole nessecery or could i use a clocking ring or a BFH i already figured the exhaust but have a really good local guy that does exhaust.

I did 35xj's D44 install. The trackbar mount on teh axle required a custom mount. No big deal really. We also had to cut and rotate his JKS trackar to clear the cover on the 44.

The hole in the floor was necesary to clear his clocked 300. It required a 8"x12" hole on the passenger side of the tranny tunnel. This was better for him than a low hanging t case.

As long as you have a 23 spline AW4, it will bolt up. You may need a thick clocking ring if the front input bearing retainer bottoms out on the back of the AW4. On his AX15, we just cut off about 7/8" from the output shaft and used a thicker clocking ring becasue it was on the shelf.

The exhaust will have to go on the drivers side. Just be careful of the fuel lines on the left side framerail.

Overall, it was a pretty simple swap after we realized what all needed to be done to make it work properly...
