Hi Josh,
I lived in Perkasie before moving to Blue Bell, just a little further south down 309 from you. I was driving a mostly stock green 92 XJ until the power steering went out. It's still driveable, but needing a clutch gives it two major problems rather than just one, so it's waiting until spring for me to lay under it again and do the surgery for the clutch. I installed an aussie locker in the stock D35 which helped my BFG AT 235/75/15's keep on going, but my diff always plows the center of roads made by you guys with your real tires. . . So it's nothing special yet, but still lots of fun. Right now I'm driving a stock green 98 classic with an NP242 which makes it a great commuter, but I miss the old Jeep's capability. Current plans are to fix the 92 in the spring, and lift it in the summer. I don't do much wheeling around here--I usually go to central PA for that--but I have a firend that has 20 acres outside of Riegelsville, and he has some off-road trails set up on his property. It's nothing big, but I go up there and wheel my 85 Blazer, which I just repo'ed from my brother who was letting it rot in Ohio, which is lifted who knows how much and rides its incredible girth on 33x12.5s. Other than the body rotting off the frame, it's great fun and we'll be using it to pull out anything that gets stuck in the mud from now on. This past weekend we chainsawed some trees to change it from a Jeep trail network to a Jeep and Blazer trail network. Overall, it's incredibly contained, and not what most people are looking to do, but it's still more fun than doing nothing when I'm in this area and want to stretch my wheeling legs.
Do you know of any other good spots to go around here?
