ORS build. What a silly little jeep.

Rocker replacements in your future? Nice work so far.

I live on 16 acres out here in the middle of the Ouachita forest. Around my property there are three creeks that converge to create a mote. I decided to play around in them tonight and test out the wet traction of these tires a bit since it's pretty well dry everywhere else. I know this isn't anything difficult. But it was pretty fun. I'll go hit the creek on the back side of the property tomorrow. It has some bigger rocks and a good water fall if I can get back to it. Last time I was back there, there were a lot of trees down.

Here is a pretty loose steep 4' ledge that I climbed out of without even slipping a tire. I tried to get some pictures as I went.

As I made my way around the east side of my property the creek gets really narrow.

And after bashing there quarter I called it quits. I don't really care about the sheet metal. But I would like to keep my glass and I ended up breaking a tail light. Plus it was getting dark on me.

I think I went through 2 full sets of taillights before installing JCR's quarter armor and LED tails.

You really going to stay with 32's? I wanted to keep my 3" lift and 32s for DD'ing, but there was no way I could keep up with the big boys anymore being that low. My friends went to one ton axles and 40's, so I had to get 35's and go up to 4-5" of lift. Too many sharp, pointy rocks getting into the undercarriage.

Yeah, I've already had one tons and 40's... many times. I have no desire to go back. Even when I start on my new buggy this winter, I'm building it around D44's and 37's. I like a challenge. And whether anyone believes me or not, I'm already keeping up with them as it is. Even with out a front locker I am running all the four and most of the five diamond trails out here. Sure, it's bashing up the body. But I like a beat rig better anyway. Worrying about body damage completely takes the fun out of rock crawling in my opinion.

Plus, chicks dig body damage.

Here are a few pictures from this evenings little creek run. There were a bunch of trees down and I didn't feel like going back and grabbing my chainsaw. So I didn't get to run the little water fall section I wanted to.

One of the perks of a short jeep.

The trail is really easy, honestly a stock jeep could make it. But we did have fun gigging frogs down at this little water hole.

Sometimes you just gotta say screw it.

Eventually I was hit by a road block.

Keeping me from this. Pics never do much justice but, it would be a decent little obstetrical.

Nice looking Jeep.

Strange how no roof rack changes the character of these.

Believe me, I agree on all accounts. I'd love to build a tiny buggy out of my XJ right now with the built D30/8.25 and 35's. Wish I had the time and shop space to do it, but living in the middle of DC makes it tough.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with this in the future.

Why are you swapping out the 8.25 just wondering? Looks sick though

Because I have lot's of spare 44 stuff, no c-clips, higher pinion, bigger shafts, bigger ring gear, and I already had a set of 4.56's and full spool for the 44.

Ah we'll that works.
Would it be a bad idea to shave a 8.25? It looks like it can be done

You could, and it certainly needs it. But I don't think I'd waist the time on an Axle that doesn't have the following. At least with my 44 I can go to bigger shafts. And it's not c-clip.

This is true but I have the axle and some time over the winter so maybe

I'm jealous of the talent, skill, and experience it takes to build something like this so quick and have so much fun with it. Very cool that you have the land available to make your playground.

In another life... I wouldn't mind taking the same path.

I like the Hella mounts in the grill too. Hole saw? Dremel?

I wouldn't call this build quick. I've had the Jeep for two and a half months. And haven't spent but 20 hours on it at the most. Usually I'd have the entire thing done how I want it in less than a week. I just haven't had the time to devote. Talent and experience come with time. I've been building rockcrawlers professionally for almost 10 years now. So don't think I just woke up and had the know how. Lol

As for the land and great wheeling. I actually relocated here to Hot Springs AR. Because we have the Superlift OHV park, which offers some of the best wheeling in the country. So I have that in my back yard too. Rockcrawling is my life. The rest is just little details.
