Operation Overcompensation

It is the PART TIME 4WD light :kissyou:

I use stock front drive shafts and the rear (which I get fabbed in Compton) now I could use front OEM shafts now if need be.

The Compton place is just a cheap hole in the wall. There work is fine. Not the prettiest. All balanced. Next time we're out, you can take a look at my drive line.

I had you covered on the light, very irresponsible. Get it fixed soon.

I have a torsion bar front shaft I need to shorten, I think I'll play it safe & take it out to J.E. Real.

You gonna make JV on the 28th?

Well, it made it to work. No vibes up to 75 MPH. Very smooth.
Everything seem to work out well. Too well. :wow:

I may show for a ride along but I need to do some chassis work to stop (or at least minimalize) the chassis flex and I NEED a cage as well.

So, how does it feel to be a Bigger Dog? :)

You should love how the Goodyears run on the highway. I wouldn't worry too much about frame flex, it should last a couple of years the way it is. :)

LOL not his frame ;) Hell even his house frame flexed after the lift to the point that pieces of the house are falling off due to extensive cracking.

Avery, how much does your Compton shop charge for a simple balance? I'm shooting to run OEM front shafts front and rear for my build but I'd like to get 'em balanced... I'd be doing all the U-Joint service.

Don't worry, I'll paint them so they look new :D

If your guys are good maybe I'll bring the belly pan with me and drop by your work, got a flak jacket I can borrow?

For those you you who don't know WTF Remi is talking about, the house (not a mobile home :D ) I rent had its foundation sink 3" 30 years ago in one corner. The only time Remi, had been to my house, they installed a 3" block "lift kit".

So technically I have a lifted XJ, Expedition, and now house :wierd:

I was wondering.. but i just assumed your house leaned the way your passenger seat does.

It is a little, how should I say, BIG.

I will start to lower it a little here soon. I found out my 37s now rub my LCA. Part of the problem is that I used to have the Chevy 6 bolt rotors that had a different (wider) WMS. Now it is about .75 - 1" shorter. I am contemplating cromoly wheel studs and using a 1/4" wheel spacer OR taking my LCA to Ron's hydraulic bender and modifying them a little. We'll see.

Yes, even after trying the used tires that have been sciped they drive excellent on the freeway.

Probably $20 -30 for the wheel balance. Don't forget the U-joints are only part of it. You will need to rebuild the CV as well and since you are in there you might as well do it.

If you don't have a flak jacket, you can call in a bomb threat in the area and all the cops will show :dunno:

Why yes, but since I used that corner of the house, I got it fixed ;)

Here is a crappy photo. I didn't get home in time before the sun started to set. Notice the mud on the tires :D (damn construction!)

Here is my cat that was wasted out at Wrecking ball....

And it's domestic partner, the muffler:

That's what fell out of the cat and muffler :gag:

I replaced the cat and muffler with a '98 cat back exhaust I stole from Ron's junk pile. I've got it clamped only right now but I need to weld it on this weekend.

Fixed the car alarm (remote battery was dead) and other than that, nothing else was done other than some errands with the wifey :D

dont lie, you dont live or work any where near a lake:gee:

One thing learned today, the MTRs displace the water a LOT better than the BFGs when driving in heavy rain!

I noticed that too when i went to MT/R's, but i attributed it to how much tread was left. :)

I only have one new one and three used ones (I am waiting on one more new one.)

Thanks asshole. Now you've given me another reason to want MT/R's. Damn expensive tires.

(My Mud Rovers locked up in the rain a couple weeks ago  )

Don't you have other things to do before you can consider getting new tires? ;)

Not really...

Tires are part of that whole deal. My biggest issue right now is the Death Wobble - Tires are playing part of that role (those tires have balance issues), not to mention they're getting balder by the day. The plan is to do it all at once because I don't want to put new parts to a Death Wobble challenge.

...Now if I only had the time to DO all this I'd be much happier. Unfortunatly the girlfriend gets a little irritated if I leave her to work on the Jeep every weekend (some here might understand that...)
