POSTING THIS NOTICE I RECEIVED IN E-MAIL FROM DEL ALBRIGHT -
Land Use Folks -- this email comes to you from Del Albright. This is a message from me and BRC Executive Director Martin Hackworth.
The Department of Interior is taking public comments concerning its review of Antiquities Act National Monuments. BlueRibbon Coalition (Sharetrails.Org) has made it very easy to submit comments and I sure hope that all of you will weigh in:
https://sharetrails.org/alert/national-doi-announces-formal-public-comment-period-for-antiquities-act-monuments/
This is where our voices can be heard like never before -- doors and windows are OPEN to us. Please take a sec.
A review of National Monuments has been a priority of BRC/Sharetrails and other groups for years and up to this point one with dim prospects. Mere months ago this would have been considered an impossibility. It's now reality and we must take advantage of the opportunity to affect the changes we want.
Everyone who has an issue with National Monuments needs to weigh in on this. This action requires no money and no special expertise - just a couple of minutes of your time.
If this process comes back with nothing but opposition from environmental and preservationist interests then we basically will fail at one of the best chances we have had to keep lands open to responsible recreation. This is the time to put up . Please share and tell your off-roading friends.
