NO pics! But she is taller and level now (definately ready for the 32's), sporting the roller skate look...LOL Everything went smooth. I was called away for 2 hours for troop issue's. When I got back there was some concern w/ a steering issue, but tightening up the trac-bar bracket they put on cured that...Ooops! Now we just have to see if he can get home...there was a report of a rock slide on 24 after Manitou Springs.

Plus, I have a new addition to my Jeep altar...a section of tail pipe! The evil grinder w/ cutting wheel went right through his glove and gave his finger a good burn/cut while cutting off the tail pipe. Blood was spilt!!! All part of the ritual to the Jeep God...LOL

A big thank you to Joey for letting me use the garage and air tools and to Led, Jeff and Josh for lending a hand. I did have an issue with my attention span while holding a grinder that resulted in a nice burn/cut on the knuckle. Luckily I didn't lose a finger. :helpme: I haven't taken any pics b/c it's miserable up here. I think it raised it up a decent amount. I had the spare tire bumper in the hatch and it looked to be sitting just a bit high in the back so it should be perfect after I get it loaded down.

Thanks for the TB bracket Troy. I guess I didn't see that second bolt that needed tightening...really made the steering much more responsive.

The rock slide was pretty good. Took up about 30 yards of one lane coming up the Pass. I'll post pics tomorrow.

I would have to say Troy is good at spotting those loose trac bars . I was at his house a couple of weeks ago and he noticed mine had been moving around . Upon futher investigation I think all 4 bolts turned out to be almost finger tight .Once again thanx Troy for savin my butt I am still constantly checking it...............Dedicated jeep guys always lookin out for each other......Oh and soon as I get paid on the first I will be joining the great NAXJA group....Gotta wait for that first check from the new job.....

Dude...I been up here flying kites all the live long day. Did you check out my kite write up pics or are you to busy bustin' my balls over Jeep photos? Maybe I need to find a kite forum.

:D

OK...I found some time between dog fights to take my killer pooch out to the defunct Woodland Park golf course so she could get chased by geese. Always good times to see a 5 year old AmStaff run to dad yelping from some water fowl. I snapped some pics of my Jeep after the makeover. I know I have issues with levelness but the thing sits pretty good now and I don't notice it changing based upon whether the tank is full or empty.

We took it out for a maiden voyage yesterday. Hooked up the GPS/laptop and had a loop planned that would take us to Aspen and then back home. Wish I'd have known that Independence Pass was closed. Made for a loooong day. Was not impressed with Aspen. Tons of dogs off leash and running around. If mine would have been that way...I'd never hear the end of it. Had to ask one guy to get his dogs nose outta Dharmas ass. Asked a server at a grill if I could order a burger and then sit outside with my dog. She told me she didn't give a poop where I ate. Dharma went after one ladys furry boots. "Sorry.....they looked like.....a puppy." To top things off...I forgot to secure the swing away tire carrier before pulling out of the parking space. Took out the whole bike rack. :shhh: Priceless to see one guys face as I got out and ran around and then exclaimed, "Someone's gonna answer for this....my bumper got scratched!"

This is the only real pic I have of what it used to look like;

That's friggin' hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't get the image of a "spandex wearing tree hugger" standing there all pissed with his carrot juice smoothy out my head. I got tears in my eyes!!!!!!!!

I thought I had a better line of sight in the rear view mirror when I was pulling away. Then I heard all the racket and two guys yelling at me. It didn't sound good at all. :D The whole day up there was a comedy of errors.

I wish I had gotten a picture of the gal wearing gray shorts, black panty hose, green high heels and a gold chain for a belt.

Had to be proud of my dog when she took a massive dump right there on the sidewalk. Only dog I know that craps on concrete.

Looks good, but I think you need to paint all of your wheels gold to match the spare. Now that I look at it it might be sun glare, should still be gold though.

And you need to work on making your pictures bigger :D I did appreciate the fantastic detail of fantasmo gordo however.

Looks good Chris! How's it ride? Them's some loooong shackles, but they got the job done awrite.

Flyin' kites........... sheesh.

I like it! When ya gonna get some rockrails Chris?

Probably never. I think I'm just going to drive the thing until I'm done with grad school and then I want something different. I'd like something that can haul more gear and keep all my fly stuff in it. Something big enough to sleep in would really be nice.

Thanks Troy. We took the long road trip to Aspen so we could test it out. The shackles definitely helped get the pinion angle right and I don't have nearly the high speed vibes that I had before. Might have been the wind throughout the day but it almost felt like I was fighting the Jeep more. I suspect the steering components may be a bit worn though. Sometimes I wonder if it's because there's a hodge podge of parts on it. Most likely it's because I'm not happy unless I can nit pick.

My father said that once. I ended up with his Jeep and he got a Suburban. After finding out first hand what capabilities a full-size doesn't have, I wish I'd kept it myself and gone wheelin more often. <shrug>

Idea for a Plan-B: get a full-size urban assault vehicle ... and a flatbed trailer ... and keep the Jeep. :greensmok

Definitely not looking for a full size. Am really looking into Tacomas though.

The only reason I suggested it was because you can flip the middle seats (with the third row gone already) and stretch out in the back even if you were 6'5". The "big enough to sleep in" part is what I was going for.

You can get pop-up campers for Tacomas too, I guess.

Oh no...don't think I haven't considered it. There's a guy selling a sweet van in town that I was eyeing but something (read someone) tells me I might have to move ALL THE WAY into it if I got that.

<kicks his feet up on the coffee table>

Ah, maybe the single life ain't so bad after all.:roflmao:

I wouldn't look foreward to trying to make it 4wd, either. (Though I may have some of the parts you'd need to do it.)
