What does everyone think about having a thread dedicated to reviewing off road areas? Of course, it'd be STRICTLY reviews. No chatting.
We could make a template that you would just fill out - could this template be changed to work better?
OHV Area Name: Land Between the Lakes - NOT Turkey Bay
Date and Time: Jan 23, 2008, 10:00AM
Weather: Cold, 25F-35F, light snow
Rig Specs: 4.5" lift, 32" ProComp M/T, front/rear recovery points.
Driver Experience: <1 yr. New to offroading.
Difficulty: I did not choose trails that were extremely difficult. Some of the trails I drove on were fairly mild and did not require 4WD, while others flexed out my suspension a lot. Some of these trails required 4WD and were very muddy. Overall, I think the trails were good for a beginner as there weren't very many places to really get stuck without hope of getting out.
Pros: Trail riding is FREE!! The park is accessible from many different locations, and off road trails are abundant.
Cons: If you break down and get stuck on one of these trails, you better be ready to fix it. There's no way a tow truck is getting out here to these. It could also make for a long walk back to a main road if you are by yourself (you shouldn't be).
Other comments: A very popular place to go is Turkey Bay. it's a designated OHV area that is frequented by 4WD trucks, bikes and ATVs. There are lots of camping areas at LBL for the overnight trip.
Overall rating (1-10): 8
