I know of hollister and carnegie, but are their any other ohv parks/trails kinda near by?

My sister told me of a BLM area up by Berryessa called Knoxville. We are hoping to get up there late January. Also up north but east of Ukiah is Lake Pillsbury/Hull Mtn. Used to take my CJ up there once a month PM (Pre-Marriage).

I recommend going on the January snow run to get to meet a whole bunch of the board members.
ya, saw that thread, but dont know if i can go yet. Hopefully i will be able 2 though looks like a ton of fun!

I am in the early stages of creating a mapping website that will offer several free detailed maps and other options. I am finalizing the maps for the Rubicon Trail for its preliminary release, there are still some changes/additions I would like to make. I will let you know when that stuff is up for you to look at.

Also send me any trail request that you may have.

Sweet can't wait to see it..

I also am wondering if anyone knows not of any "full on" trails but just some little mess around spots. (my buddies who live in North Bay go to this field/mud pits right off HWY 37/101 interchange..) but I dont know of anything like that in the east bay..

Carnegie is not that far, should be less then one hour from you: (it is not that much fun, better if you are on a bike)

I have not been there in a few years so I am shure it has changed, this time of year there is lots of mud in the creek.

If you go take photos and post them up!

Ya for that drive (about 35min or so) I could get out to those pits out off of 37.. I was at carnagie about a year ago and it deff isn't real wheeler friendly like Knoxville was (now there was a blast). And pretty much im just messing around in mud pits and light trails for now cuz I litteraly JUST bought my truck (1987 Cherokee Limited, maroon with wood panneling for $650  ill pot up some pics when I get a chance..) so until I get a lift and some tires thats all Im kinda looking for.. I just didnt know if there was anything super close or not.. Hopefully once I get some stuff for it ill see yall out there sometime..

about a month ago i was at carnegie, i spoke to a ranger and he said that they were putting in hill climbs for 4x4s with winch anchors and everything. plus there are much more rocks now. its also the only place ive been to where you can drive down a creek for over a mile, and thats real fun

Here's a few pics from last weekend at Prarie City. Lots of rock piles to play on and a decent obsticle course area. Pretty nice spot for a few hours of play time but nothing like Hollister.
