Official MWC Pig Gig thread

We are still in.
Due to fuel prices however I will be running at almost the speed limit the whole way, so no one will want to follow me. Of course.....you are more then welcome to.

You wheeled the Excreation last year. It's the Rovers turn. We'll give you the tour of the back 40. :firedevil

Well... I am officially out... Someone screwed the pooch and got everything arranged for Memorial Day weekend.... Problem is Gig is weekend after memorial day.... I might still be able to con Jenni into making pie, and dropping it off at El Presidente's....

He's not coming either.

:(

I'm considering this event. Do you know of any off the wall gun laws in IL? I would only be bringing rifles. Also, has anyone mentioned shooting some clays?

Clays will be shot. Bring clays if you plan to shoot any. I have a crappy thrower, but it works. We used it last year with sucess.

Gun laws: Meah, Keep them in the cases while traveling, you'll be fine.:wave1:

I'm shooting the pig so, forget it.:D

Ummm....the Rover gets 16MPG, on premium only. The truck got 18 on the run up to Matts, and it is going up.

As long as I stay under 70, it is the better choice......I would not be opposed to taking it down that little hill.

I have to retract my earlier statements. I just received word from our contractor that we are going to have our north hog barn emptied and refilled that thursday and friday before pig gig, and the south barn is to be cleaned for a monday delivery of another 2400 head,so that counts me out since I was going to drive up friday. I guess I will be having a "pig gig" of my own...with 4800 head of these little bastards showing up. Have fun guys (and gals!).

Byron,

If you dont get rid of that TB bracket and would ship it, I would still take it.

Later-
Tyler

Bring your ammo with you, or get an IL resident to purchase it. IL requires a Firearms Owner's Identification Card (FOID) to purchase ammo, or even have somebody get a gun out of a display case to look at.

Next weekend!

Whenever you get there is fine. Makes no difference. We'll be there all day. I'll probably be there at 7:30am or so. We need to have the pig on by 8 IMHO. We plan to do slinger-dinger maintance after we get the pig on. I need to talk to Trav and see what the plan is for his arrival.

Weather shows rain as of now. We'll be cooking a pig regardless.

OK, looks like I can make it! I've been working my ass off lately, and I need a break. And I want to see how the 94 does for mpg's on the highway - almost 18 in suburban driving...

I'll bring homebrew, but will there be anybody there that will drink it besides me? What else is still needed foodwise?

7:30 works for me.

A little weather won't stop us from having a good time.

Here are some directions:

From Effingham go south on RT. 45 approx. 18 miles to the Iola Rd. Turn west go 1 mile to the T. Turn south for .2 miles. Turn west for 1.5 miles. Driveway will be on the right.

From Flora go north on RT. 45 approx. 10 miles. Then follow the above directions.

Once you are on the Iola Rd. if you get to the river bridge you have gone to far. The bridge is about 1/4 mile past the drive.

I will have some sort of signs on the highway & at the drive. Once you get up the drive go around the barn to the left, parking will be in the back.

If you get lost the phone # there is 618-665-3475.

JIM.

BTT for another look at the directions.

There will be signs along Rt.45. Follow the signs and you won't have a problem.

The number above is Jim's mothers house and there is a phone in the barn so we'll hear it. If you think you need my cell phone, PM me if you don't already have it.
